i told my usual mechanic that i want to get a nice full tune up on my new car. he tells me the ignition wires may need to be replaced and that they cost around $600?!?!?!?!? Bologna!!! Is that really what they cost? Where can i get them for cheaper? ill just buy em and install em myself. stupid mechanics...

Your car doesn't have ignition wires. Each plug has a separate ignition coil.

The ignition coils rarely go bad and when they do it tends to be a hard failure with that cylinder missfiring. The boots that cover the plugs can go bad, especially if they get contaminated with oil from a valve cover leak.
