Alright, I goto college in Daytona Beach, Fl. I recently bought an Alpine e36 M3, and it isnt the easiest to keep clean. I love, LOVE, cleaning my car but i dont have a good place to do it in Daytona. I was wondering if you guys knew an easier way to clean it without washing it everyday. Any input will help on this matter.
Thanks in advance guys

Hey man. Good choice in cars! I have an Alpine M3 vert and am currently in college. I wash my car once every other week usually. It doesnt get that dirty that quickly and white cars believe it or not tend to hide dirt pretty well. Basically im finding that i wash my rims once a week and wash my car once every other week and that tends to do the trick. Tips for keeping it clean are parking it in a garage if you can. Don't try to park under tree's oh and the obsession with washing your car every other day will wear off after a while..at least it did for me ;) but some guys on here still have that obsession. Once again good choice in cars! Have fun

First before you leave for college give it a full detail. Get a nice sealant or wax on there to help protect the paint. Then get a bottle or two of Quick Detailer and a few microfibers. When your car has some light dust or something on it you can spray some QD on it and wipe it off. You won't be able to substitue a wash with QD but it will help delay it some and keep it looking good. Next, make friends with someone that's local so you can wash in their driveway :stickoutt

First off a white car is a super choice for Florida since it gets a tad warm here. Second is do not use wax, in place order a good sealant ie Klassee or maybe Zaino since the FL sun will bake most waxes off in a few weeks.
I's suggest you start with a wash and then a claybar of the entire car.....rims too. Then a coat of Klasse AIO with several follow up coats of Klasse SG. IMHO putting a coat of wax on top of the SG will not show much if any improvement on a white car so you can skip that. Just don't forget the use the Klasse product on your rims too since keeping them clean is near impossible with stock pads.
Others here will perhaps suggess Zanio which is also a sealant....no matter just remember not to use a wax in FL since between the hurricanes and hot sun it just gets blown away faster than you can put it on.
Getting a window tint job may also be something to consider and watch out for big FL birds...they make one heck of a mess.

Get it cleaned really well and protected before you leave home.
Away from home, you might be interested in DP Waterless Auto Wash or Poorboy's Spray & Wipe.
Another option might be Protect-All's Quick and Easy Wash (QEW).
Lots of information on these products at www.autopia.org

I second the quick detailer idea.
I live in a condo and don't have access to a hose/car cleaning supplies like I did when I lived with parents. About once a month I'll give it a wash at one of those coin-op places (I bring my own wash mitt of course, no brush!) and shammy it dry. When the dust accumulates after a few days, just spray it with the quick detailer (generously) then wipe it off with a microfiber towel. Use another clean microfiber towel to buff the area afterwards and it will be like a mirror.
Just wax about once a month after the wash and you'll be good to go! :redspot :redspot :redspot

i second saedzz's idea of a sealant. Wax won't last long in the Florida sun and heat. Klasse or Zaino will protect longer.
Then just get a good QD,like Meguiar's #34 Final Inspection, to wipe off bird droppings and dust between washes.

Sealant is more durable... Buy a car duster?

it's tough when your in college. i would always take my jeep to the power wash and hose if off every week or two but probably just a regular spray wash won't be good enough for you. Personally I'd just pay for a good detail to at least hold you over until you can go home in a few months and give the car a good cleaning. of course paying for a detail is tough when your in college and your dirt poor. Bit of a conundrum. :devillook
