2001 525i

I know, it's a stupid question.

My friend just called me from the airport. His battery died and I told him I would replace it before he got back in town. So, I'm wondering what I'll eb dealing with. He said it might be under the seat or something crazy like that!

Can I just get a battery from AutoZone or wherever? Or is it recommended to get one from BMW?

So, any help with the battery location or recommendation for type of replacement battery would be greatly appreciated!

The battery is in the right rear fender well. Open the trunk and you'll see a "pull down" handle on the right side. The battery is underneath that cover.

get somethign like exide or something... there's only like 3 true battery makers in the whole country and Interstate uses recycled batteries... i never liked them anyways.

if you need to jump the car, there's a (+) thing under the hood for the red cable and just ground it at the strut tops.
