hello all.
Sorry, I don't own a BMW. Wouldn't mind to, but...

I need some help for a different vehicle alltogether.. the idea is to take advantage of the superior parts available for an E3/E9.

This is for a '70's Fiat 124. Parts for these things really stink these days. Nothing of OE quality. The flex discs/guibos fall apart in no time, and certainly can't tolerate higher power levels. The originals were ok.

Anyways, I've tracked down a suitable flex disc/guibo replacement.
BMW part number 26111107832

This would probabally be good enough for the majority of the Fiat community, as I'm sure these are stouter than what we can currently get.
There are the racers and the higher output forced induction guys that would appreciate even stronger replacements. There's guys putting out 400RWHP with these old Fiats. :)

It seems to me that the above listed guibo is solid rubber (from pictures I've seen and comments below).. what I'd like is one of the same dimensions but reinforced with the nylon cord.
It appeears that this place has them, but not sure:

"
Allows replacing the weak solid rubber flex disc with the new style
reinforced type. Replaces BMW P/N 26111107832. New style guibo and all
necessary hardware included. Manual transmission only.

72-76 Bavaria, 3.0, 3.0 CS, Si, S P/N 26111UPDATE
"

Now, the catch.
What the Fiat community needs in order to proceed is the actual BMW part number for this "updated" and stronger flex disc replacement.
Armed with a part number I can have my friend, who has a BMW parts connection, verify the dimensions to make sure these will work in our application.
My interests are not in bypassing Korman, but just to find out before we go ordering these things if they'll even work.

I'm sure some of you are wondering how I even came up with the original part number as a candidate for substitution.
My friend used to own a Merkur XR4Ti (aka Ford Sierra Cosworth Escort something or another), he mentioned that the Merkur crowd used the Fiat flex discs as substitutes for their cars. Recently I did some digging and found that the XR4Ti guys also use BMW part number 26111107832 as a sub. So there you have it. In theory, it should work for us.

So.... does anybody have the part number I'm looking for?

26111107832 is the part number you are looking for, I think, as they stopped selling the non-nylon disks when they updated the part. If someone else could verify that, it would be great.

Got it off of realoem.com. Here is the link so that you may verify it for yourself. Also, the website as a whole seems like it would be of great benefit for you.
