HypnosisRacing 07-21-2005, 04:32 PM lol...this is funny. You think anyone really wants to get out in this 90+ degree georgia dogshit heat? hahah, especially with 90% humidity everyday...to show you how to detail a car? Go have it done professionally, let them wax it up and stuff, and bring it to you with the a/c on so you never break a sweat...lol. If you cant keep that up, familiarize yourself with the quarter wash, an absorber, and maguires wax.

This is a great way to start off at a forum. First off, you have no right ill-treating any of our members and questioning their intellect when you yourself cant read the back of a bottle and learn how to wax your car.
Let me simplify the task for you:
1. wash car
2. apply wax
3. wipe off wax
If you have trouble doing that I pray for you. You know how we roll, bitch.

G. P. Burdell 07-22-2005, 07:05 AM I wouldn't want to even think about a detailing meet until fall. It's just too darned hot to have one now. You don't want to wash/wax a hot paint surface anyway.
Jean-Claude 07-22-2005, 08:18 AM This will not end well.

lol...if you are referring to the legitimate english sentence i wrote to you, yes, in fact, i did put that together all by myself. Was there something you took offense to while reading it? Was it the fact that i told you it was hot and that nobody would want to come out and do car detailing right now while its so hot? Before you continue trying to be cute and stuff, let me fill you in on a little secret, if you pick up a bottle of wax and read the back of the thing (assuming you can in fact read) you'll see what they suggest you do as far as application conditions, and given the near daily afternoon thunderstorms, the fact that its atleast 90degrees outside and heat index combined with humidity can effect the way wax sets on the car before removal...ALSO combined with the fact that you'll probobly get 5 feet before you hit a downpour...it isnt worth the time really right now to have a bunch of people get together to show how to properly wash and wax a car.
So before you go trying to be an e-thug an get an attitude again...keep in mind that while my response to you might not be the "WHOOOA BRO GOOD IDEA I LOVE YOU LETS WASH OUR CARS TOGETHER!" response you were looking for, i wasnt sitting here trying to BS you, there was some truth to my post (whether you understood it or not).
Go get you a bottle of Zymol or something, read through the various threads online about proper car detailing, and then perhaps down the road, when you can get through a few posts without copping such an attitude, maybe people will want to come hang out and show their own personal techniques.
:cool

That and the lack of correct grammar, spelling and syntax. There should be a certain IQ level to buy a BMW, this buyer obviously failed that test.
Man, I say lets roll up on this fool for starting trouble on the board and do a 187 on his ass. Kevlar emailed me his i.p adrress and I already got his address from his isp. Vance has a gun with no bodies on it.

Ntejani 07-26-2005, 12:41 PM I am sorry about starting this S*** ....I just needed help... since my car has little bumps in the paint and wanted to know how to use clay ...since I have never used that and did not want to mess up the paint ...Again I am sorry If I have offended anyone...I am here to make long time friends .. :)

VANCE 07-26-2005, 12:54 PM if you paint has "bumps" in it i think it is already messed up.
i think you are refering(sp?) to small pieces of "trash" or "runs" that occur when it has been repainted and not properly wet-sanded & buffed out.
got any pics?

Yes, if your paint is doing this number, forget the bar clay and waxing, go get it sanded and repainted. (unfortunately) Was the car in an accident and had a panel replaced/repainted, or maybe just some touch up's in the past?
Even the best of shops can screw stuff up (I recall someone with the M3 CSL trunk having paint issues too). :devillook
Ntejani 07-27-2005, 09:39 AM actually the car has never been painted ...but just normal driving...the paint does not feel as smooth as when I brought the car....it feels like little rough ...when talking to few ppl ...and reading online ..using a clay would remove that ....but just scared to use it...and want to do it right. or perhaps I can take it to some good detailing place in atlanta...know anyone?..thanks
HypnosisRacing 07-27-2005, 09:48 AM Dude...no offense man, but do some of your own fucking homework...lol, do you need us to hold your hand while you go to the detail shop too? Look in the yellow pages, look up "Automotive Detailing" and theres about 4,000,000,000 in there...pick one close to you, take it to them, have them give you an estimate...badda bing badda boom...

Hey Man,
Don't let them get you down, just somedays they all forget their manners on the same day . . . .
The directions on how to clay your car will come with the kit, or at least it did on mine, there is a good section on BFc bout detailing and such and then there is the search function at the top of every group, and it is a great resource
That and thick skin will serve you well
Welcome to BFc
count_schemula 07-27-2005, 05:56 PM the paint does not feel as smooth as when I brought the car....it feels like little rough ...
When a car is clean and waxed, its feels smooth. You toss a towel on the hood and it glides right off the other side.
When the wax wears off, the time of which varies for different waxes, oxidation builds up on the surface of the paint or more accurately, the clearcoat. Oxidation feels a lil' rough. Tacky to the touch and if you toss a towel across the hood, it just kind of stops.
If you are scared of clay, maybe look into a "clearcoat cleaner." Basically you'd wash the car very well, then use a product like HD Cleanse, and then wax the car.
In general, avoid combo products like "cleaner wax" and stuff. Get the right goo for the job.
Def spend some time reading in the show and shine section, lots of good stuff in there.
