Just bought my first car last night...

1986 BMW 535i
Not much done to it but it's good for me (low on the $$$$)

Anyways, I need to do some things to it starting with a new A/C compressor (ATL Summers are brutal). If anyone has any suggestions (where to get it / how to install it) i'd be grateful.

Is it hard to do yourself or should I have it done. I'm not real mechanical but my friends are pretty good.

Also, my aftermarket stereo has power but doesn't play so if anyone has suggestions for that....

BMWs aren't too hard to work on so try doing it yourself first. The 5 series part of the forum (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=31) can answer a lot of questions. BimmerDiy.com has good information but they only cover e34s and not e28s. Maybe some of the e28/e34 stuff is the same :dunno
