I've been using Sonus for a couple years now, and am ready to try another product just to get a feel for what else is out there, and perhaps save a few $ while I'm at it [I QD often :)]

Sonus = 0.62 per ounce

Thinking about trying:

Poor Boys Spray & Gloss (http://autogeek.net/pbsg16.html) @ 0.37

Meguirs Final Inspection (http://autogeek.net/meg34finin.html) @ 0.43

These are the only 2 I know off off the top of my head that are non-carnauba based.

Any other reccommendations?

Personally I use Meguiar's Final Inspection. I haven't tried any other brands so I can't say if it's better or worse but it does what it needs to. I usually use it after a wash if there's lint or dust or something on my car and I want it to go away. It seems to add a little luster to the paint but it could also be the fact that it was just washed.

Zaino z-6 is the best I've used, but its not cheap. Use it sparingly and it will last a long time though. You could also try and find meg's #33 or 34 and buy it by the gallon.

Well, after a little more searching, I decided on THIS (http://chemicalguys.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PCWCCP&Product_Code=WAC_116&Category_Code=WAC). The Chemical Guys gallon [yeah, that's a lot of QD] of 'Extreme Synthetic Spray Detailer'.

Like I said, I QD often [OCD], so the volume purchase made sense. Its also the only one that had a clear definition of what it truly was and wasn't [100% wax, alcohol, silicone, and streak free], and, it came in a 0.28.

I'll report back in a week or so after some usage. :)

I was reading somewhere that folks were making there own home brew QD using 1 part Klasse SG to 4-5 parts water. I have not tried this nor have I done the math to figure out cost per oz but in a QD emergency this may be a way to go.
