FUTURE MODS:

Too numerous to count, but to give an overview... I am going to do a stroker kit to 3.0 with an M3 crank (knife-cut lightened and re-balanced), lightened forged rods, and new pistons. Compression to be lowered via HG for now. Custom ground cams by D.Elgin cams. Head work port and polish, possible valve job. Custom turbo kit with GT40R; custom dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. Engine bay bling to be enhanced with Samco hoses and the new Cosmos V2.

Exterior will continue to be enhanced to full MTec trim, and custom CF Boser hood is already in the works (mold is made, just haven't had time to finish the hood due to a recent home remodel and moving to my new house). DDEs and real HIDs will be installed, and LTW MA Shaw CF wing. Rieger Type 3er side skirts and Rieger wide body flares will be installed to accomodate 18x9.5 BBS RS-GTs all around (black diamond cut of course).

Suspension will include H&R PCS Coilovers, H&R 28mm stabilizer bars, GC adjustable Control Arms and RTAs; Hiop RaceTec Camber/Castor adjustment plates. Also CF strut tower bar from UUC will be incorporated.

Drivetrain will be upgraded with an E46 M3 6sp manual tranny, Sachs high power clutch plate, lightweight flywheel from UUC, and UUC short shifter. Driveline will be custom built to sustain torque and be much lighter. Rear diff will be upgraded to Hiop RaceTec 75% LSD at a 3.46 ratio.

In the spring She's going to get a fresh full new paint job. Schwarz II has just a hint (a very insignificant amount) of red, white, and 2 types of yellow. I am going to repaint Her Jet Black. It will be more glossy than the stock paint and with no other tints it will just look so deep.

Other minor 'ICE' and fun stuff will be added in the process. This was just an overview; other things will be done as the process rolls on. Here are recent pics of my ride! :

87k miles on the clock. I've had it just over two years (since 58,645 miles). I couldn't be happier with the car. I haven't had a single problem with it in the last two years!

Mods:

Interior- Momo Tuner steering wheel, Momo short Anotomic shift knob. Should have some Momo pedals on the way soon.

Exterior- Painted moldings, E39 M5 lip spoiler, Replica CF ACS lip, custom LTW wheels (yes, I did them).

Lighting- ZKW's with modified cut-off (from Euro-spec uptick to DOT flat cut-off), Prolumen 5000k HID's, NO DDE's!!!! Fogs are modified to use an H7 bulb.

Performance, etc.- Not much yet. Tein Basic coilovers. Custom 3" cat-back using a DynoMax Race muffler de-baffled airbox (if you can call that a mod). Cobalt GT brake pads.

Stereo- Who cares. Enough to sound better than shit-stock but not enough to add any weight.

Plans- A lot of this is far off. I've been restraining from a lot of mods so I'm only doing it once.
-For body, I will add cf hood and trunk (painted) and a cf LTW spoiler (partially painted).

-Performance will be cams, ltw flywheel, and a super-charger (toyin with a turbo but not likely).

-Interior will be done with bolt-ons after some Momo seats. Just have to decide between adjustable and fixed back seats and how much I want to spend.

-I'm also debating between some CSL replica wheels and some Beyern Mesh wheels. Either way, they will be done in gold. Old school baby!!! :redspot

-As money permits, the next thing I'm likely to do is go back to the black motorsport flag. I miss it. :(

Just picked up a new bimmer down in San Diego area that i had seen first a few months ago, finally was able to fly down and pick it up. The car is a 1991 318is, Alpineweiss and stock for now. The car needs a lot of work in the cosmetics area, but i'm looking forward to some fun. Paid $1,800 for it, so i am very happy, only 150,000 miles.

I live in SOuthern Oregon, if anybody else want to go for a drive sometime we should all get together!

My plans for the car are somewhat simple, IE3s, Bilsteins, Azenis, chip and new clutch/LWFW. it may be a four, but it's gonna handle like a dream.
i also plan on reverting to stock basketweaves..

I just got my first BMW. It's an '89 325i. Before this I've always been a Volvo guy. I'm not allowed to post pics (I don't know why).

Met a few of you at the BMC Seattle get together a few weeks ago. Went out and bought a 95 M3 the next day. I can finally post some pics now so here it is. It is totally stock, 88K miles.

So far I have had the pleasure of:
Replacing the window motor, regulator, and sliders for the driver side window.
Replace the glove box (busted hinge on the old one).
Installing HK Traffic Pro 4771.
Replaced Oyxgen sensor, spark plugs, and air filter.Not bad for two weeks of ownership!

Hi Guys,

I've got a 1987 e30 325 automatic with 224K miles and a lot of stories. I've taken care of the car for about 6 years for a good customer who allowed me to take a pile and turn it back into a solid mechanical car that looked pretty bad. Over the years we brought the maintainence items back to spec, replaced the whole suspension, driveshaft, a couple of brake jobs, antennas, seat repairs, etc... always using OE or better parts. Nothing modded, just a darn nice driving car that looked pretty poor with a black cheapo paint job over the stock red.

I've helped drag a Black Bear home in the trunk from the Pac Forest and a couple weeks later dragged the car back to Tacoma when he ripped the oil pan open in the same area on a forestry road and drove about 15-20 miles back to Elma with no oil. Patched the pan at the time with quick steel and fired it up... squealed like pure death... wacked the throttle once and it picked up a prime and has run fine for two years+ since.

This February he calls me up out of the blue and asks if I want the car. Karma... I needed something new, wife had a wreck and everything else was falling apart... plus I'd been working since December at a Euro shop and could buy parts at a good price. He didn't want to sell me the car... he wanted to give it to me as the resale value wasn't worth the hassle of having people bug him. I jumped on it.

Since I got it in February I've replaced the oil pan, checked the bearings (they look fine!), tuned it, new O2, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, Brembo rotors , new pads, new fog lamps, lots of bulbs, some lenses, antenna, tires, converted A/C to 134a with new receiver/drier, new boot from afm to throttlebody, some fresh fuel lines under the hood, and looking for some time to replace the water pump, all the belts including timing belt, crank and cam seals (had them sitting in my tool box for months now). Aligned it and the car is rock solid... just picked up my friend/customer with it today at the airport and he'd like it back. I warned him he wasn't getting it back when he got sick of the 2003 Tiberon he bought :) He offered to trade, I said no way.

This week I've ordered up new Focal speakers to replace the oe ones, new emblems from overseas to replace the busted up stockers, and the drivers door trim to cover up the band of red paint where the missing piece covers the horrible paint job.

I'm looking for a stock black vinyl drivers seat as mine has a broken seat back frame, the vinyl is torn and the back got thrown away by the previous owner (aurgh!). Almost got a set of Recaro style ones off ebay but the seller has posted the same pictures in a bunch of auctions for used/repaired seats and wouldn't give me pictures of the actual seats. I'll keep looking... wife wants leather, I think the vinyl will look better long term with less maintenance.

Also want to fix the display on the clock (not OBC...), it's solid orange over a large chunk.

Anyways... that about covers me and my story. Love the little car, good mileage, super handling, solid as a rock and it just keeps getting better a bit at a time. Starting to do more appearance stuff as I trust the mechanicals and the previous owner didn't give a damn about that and used it for offroad excursions hunting... a lot. It isn't anything close to a show car, no bling or race stuff... might get it painted right in a year or so once everything else is up to snuff.

Hi, I am new to the forum and wanted to say Hey and introduce myself. I just bought a 2002 gorgeous Stahlgrau 2002 M Coupe about 3 months ago. Always wanted a Z3 years ago, but one test drive was all that it took to grab the M Coupe. It's a shame that the rain is upon us now, so she'll be garaged until the next dry day. It would be great to find others in the area who have suggestions for drives and maintenance questions as well as best tire places locally etc.

Gorgeous, what method of painting did you use on your wheels?

Been hangin 'round the e21 section for quite some time, I guess I've just never scrolled down far enough to even notice that this section exists! I'm a co-founder of a Portland local group for classic Bimmers, mostly e21's, but a couple of '02s, E12s, a CS, couple of E30's and even an E36.

I personally are on my second e21, started with a 1983 320i, which sadly was totalled, and then I found a 323i from a local guy which was a complete rust bucket, and completely restored the body and interior. My name is Anthony and I have a e32 89 750iL and a e46 M3.

The 750iL has H&R springs, Bilstein shocks, Wokke chips, rear muffler delete, and 17in Beyern wheels. Black exterior and tan interior.

The M3 is stock with Tein springs. Imola red with red interior, 6 speed manual.

Hmm. I thought I had posted here, but I guess not. I just bought a 1995 325i 4d 5spd Boston Green/Tan with 235k. I got it for $4k though, so I'm not complaining too vociferously.

It was lowered by the previous owner, and has a somewhat shoddy limo tint job. There are quite a few things wrong with it, but none of them are terribly huge, which is why I got it so cheaply. Laundry list: Driver's window stuck, brake light circuit switch failed, fog lights broken, no keychain remote, a bunch of lights were burnt out, the wiring to the trunk was frayed, and the PCV hose has a hole in it right on top of the engine.

In other news, I was really surprised that I could get performance brakes cheaper than the Autozone El Cheapo® stuff.

yep it is crazy, when there is 40, people go 100. I drive there every year. Actually last year in over 10 different countries.
Racing in Warsaw could only get you a ticket for speeding but now they're cracking down on drunk drivers though. (those days are over when you could bribe a cop for that)

A little update on my beast as of recently, most mods are in sig with addition of a few extras:

-90% gutted & stripped of all unecessary weight, still working on some of the tar
-50% completion on a 10 point roll cage, haven't had free time to bolt & weld in the rest of the plates & gussets.
-100% lockup 3.91
-Permanently sealed sunroof
-Tied in cage to rear struts and cross reinforced in center with battery tie down & tray for rear mounted battery
-Front strut brace not installed, has additional supports coming out of it that clamp down on the engine and prohibit almost all engine movement
-8mm plug wires
-overdriven cooling fan 360mm
-prelude si seats
-momo shifter n shit
-rear bumper tuck, front not done yet... Haven't found anything sturdy enough to ram into at speed to force it in, probably going to cut & weld 2 weeks from now after camping

And a few other big plans partially prepared for, partially completed, and some still drawn up on paper, just need to find a spare valve cover in case I ruin mine by welding brackets onto it :(

No chrome or silver. keep ur eye out for this classy E46 as i'm gonna be doing lot of things to it. If you see me, dont be afraid to drop in and say hi i wont bite! ;)

First BMW was a 1997 black on black 328i with 155k miles which was lowered on something that I know nothing of unfortunately the receipt was lost.... also had clear lighting, authentic AC Schnitzer Type III's and an M50 Manifold. I sold that to afford the following vehicle.

I currently own a 1996 Estoril Blue ///M3 with 90k miles. Right now it has Bilstein Sports, Rieger Lip, Clear Corners, and LTW's.

Hello all! I'm new to the whole BMW world and all and love it now! I have a 01 325ci. There is no mods done to it with the exception of a stereo system. Im currently in San Diego, CA but will be back on the good 'ole Washington in less than 30 days from now! I love my car to death and couldn't have been happier with another car, well maybe a M3 but ill will survive for now...

I just realized that I never really posted my intro in the NW section, so here goes.

I'm the original owner of my hooptie and I moved up to the Seattle area last summer. And although I've only managed to attend last summer's Seattle M-Meet in Fife and the recent drive to Leavenworth (only the AM meet, didn't actually go on the drive), I haven't really had a chance to make out to all the various little GTGs, i.e. Tacoma Krispy Kreme, Bellevue, etc. But hopefully soon!!

My name is Larry, I'm 23, just got my 2004 silver grey metallic e46 m3 about 2 weeks ago. I used to drive a 99 v6 accord so the change will take me some time. I got into bimmers because my dad loves bimmers, and my elementary school days were spent riding in his 87 325i. And here are some pictures of my car, sorry for the crappy quality, i only have a camera phone ;)

I have a 95 M3 5 speed Cosmos Black. 24,449 miles I have some pictures, but I do not have an image host site yet. Any recommendations for one?
The pictures I have are not glamor shots by any means.

In the near future I will be taking it to Portland to have a Dinan free flow exhaust, CAI, and Engine software added . Maybe the stage 1 suspension, and the larger throttle body.

I Bought a 97 328 Vert back in June

I had a Jeep wrangler but while coming home from work I was Driving up I-5 by Federal way at 10:30 pm
Two cars swerve out of my lane and I see a Van stoppped out in the middle of the road withthe driver outside the Vehichle

I slam my brakes and Hitthe van doing around 45-50 I estimated (Unable to avoid it due to traffic along side me

Totals the Jeep and shortens the body by about a Foot and a half
(The bottle of scotch remained intact though :})

I was not hurt jsut frigging sore in the chest and a few other areas

So I buy a BMW :}
