View Full Version : help. 1995bmwe38 07-18-2005, 03:34 PM yesterday i was driving and i went to go park the car and on the little information screen the words failsafe mode or something like that appeared. anyone know what this might mean? any help would be apreciated., thanks... Turning to the owners manual in times like these can help steer you in the right direction. There is an Engine Failsafe fault and a Transmission Failsafe fault...determine which one it is...below are images taken from the owners manual that explains what the Check Control Message means and what you should do. How long has it been installed? Is it the correct (or equivalent) size? When I bought my 740 last year (from FlyingHigh aka - Jack as some of you may remember) he had a couple of funny electrical problems in the last few months before I got the car. I had a couple myself. I couldn't get a date code off the battery (and it was the OE brand BMW battery so it 'might' have been original to the car) - So I replaced it. Not a spec of any problem since. Just a thought. I got the Duralast group 49D at Autozone (so far, so good....) |
