Suddenly, the memory seat stopped working; it would not adjust seat position, but would adjust mirrors and steering wheel positioning. The manual seat control switch works, but only when the ignition is on. Concurrently, the following other systems also stopped working: interior courtesy lights, front door red marker lights, map lights, and pump for windshield washer. Fuse 5 was blown, replaced, and immediately blew again. The dealer disconnected the battery and replaced the blown fuse #5 and found all systems worked normally; they kept the car for 7 days, wiggled wires, but the problem could not be duplicated. 3 week later I had the same symptoms recur. This time, the dealer reported that the on-board diagnostic system indicated a faulty windshield washer pump motor. They reported checking the wiring harness for short circuits, but found none. They reasoned that a short in the washer pump was causing the master control module to blow. The dealer replaced the washer motor, and the memory seat seemed to be working OK when I drove home. The next day, again while setting and changing the memory seat functions, the exact same faults recurred; fuse #5 was blown again, and again replaced; the interior map lights flickered, for a couple of seconds, but the instant the windshield washer pump was engaged the fuse blue again for the fourth time. That’s where I am today. So I’m turning to this forum for help. What do you suppose is causing this problem????
