Try RRT in Dulles, VA. They build racecars...
m thrizl 07-18-2005, 10:35 AM smart thinkin! thanks
just got off the phone with them.
8 hours labor @ $85 plus $85 for the plates. pretty reasonable. but most importantly i feel like they will do the job right.

RRT does absurdly nice work.
sKunkman 07-18-2005, 11:54 AM 8 hours of labor is ridiculous.
But I've heard tons of good things about that place. 85/hour is pretty good!
NoSoup4U 07-18-2005, 12:28 PM If I were to have issues, there would be a couple of places I would consider:
a) RRT -- their location, for me, is a bit inconvenient;
b) BMW of Fairfax -- I like their work for a dealership relatively local to me; and
c) Kearney Racing (They are doing a majority of the work on my car). Been in business for 40 some years. They do good work and are quite amazing in some of their innovative ideas.
m thrizl 07-18-2005, 03:28 PM 8 hours labor too much? maybe, but its a pretty big job and does involve some welding.
typically i would shop the job around, but since the job requires dissasembling the entire rear end of my car, i would feel much more comfortable taking it to a bmw specialist like RRT. so i dont think i will get to involved with negotiating labor rates or hours, and $85 an hour for labor is fair.
thanks for the help

I don't want to start anything but...go to them now why they still are young idealists with engineering engenuiety & brazen can do will. Be4 good word of mouth makes them too accessible & they sell out for the easy quick buck like that other place out by Dulles... :D
jjjj-jaded.... :D :D
Nihilation 07-18-2005, 09:11 PM RRT did the reinforcement plates on my E36. I give them a thumbs up. :alright
Phat Ham 07-18-2005, 09:24 PM and $85 an hour for labor is fair. That's probably about as good as it gets around here.
m thrizl 08-24-2005, 03:05 PM they did a pretty good job, the rear subframe wasnt torn, just came unfastened on the pass side, the did repair my front subframe which i thought was impossible, and i didnt want to buy a new one for $400, the removed, weldded in plates, repainted, and installed for 4 hours. My total bill was a grand and they did several other misc repairs. There only mistake was improperly installing my cat heat shield, it was rubbing on my driveshaft and sounded like crap, scared a couple of potential buyers away, but it was a easy fix and runs tight now.
FYI, FOR SALE, 95 M3, 98k, above fair condition, tight suspension, strong motor, must sell ASAP, $8500 final price.
definately reccomend to anyone

clean title?
If so that should sell in about 45 mins, good luck.
I'm taking my car to RRT when my subframe goes. I might have them do their own thing, or get an available subframe reinforcement kit for them to install. Havent decided.
m thrizl 08-24-2005, 03:23 PM 95 M3, clean title, would make a great second car/DD/track car, whatever, just not show quality be any means. lots of little extras, mostly suspension pieces, adj RCCA and camber plates, Powerflex RTAB's, ect.
