Peter I just picked up seats for the car, so no more microwave for me. It was fun while it lasted though. Now if I can only get the car to go in a straight line...

I've got an attic that'll work. Let's talk soon about making a plan. Preferably over several beers.

Wednesday is good. Someplace lowkey. How about Clarendon Ballroom so long as it's not raining?

EDIT: Actually it might be a little crowded for what we're trying to do. We need somewhere we can sit down and talk to each other without yelling.

Marshall's.......nobody ever goes there....except us...and we're not there often :dunno

Phat Ham

The car is in much better shape than I assumed it would be. yeah it's not bad at all. If I fix the front end alignment and sort out the brakes aside from burning a lot of oil it would probably be fine as a daily driver.

I'm headed to the junkyard tomorrow since my tires still are not in apparently, so I'll look for some E21s out here. As I said before, I'm willing to help out, but my location isn't ideal from where you guys are at.

My E21 hasnt ran in a year and has been sitting in the basement garage of the HBL parking lot for just over a year now.

I sold the car for $50 because I wanted it gone ... it's really not in bad shape. Hampton -- I think the alignment issue is that the tie-rods need to be adjusted out a little. The brake issue is most likely the rear. Get a 17mm wrench and crank the bolts on the back of the right backing plate in opposite directions away from the center of the backing plate. I think they just need to be adjusted.

By the way -- that microwave is the hotness -- and I like the antique plates

Nice!! Did you pay for it in CASH?

Jeff M3
07-15-2005, 06:21 PM
Cash is for teh poor ... he paid in platinum bricks ... though it was a very smalllllll brick.

The steering wheel itself needs to be pulled off and turned one tooth to the left on the steering gear. It's just a single nut and it comes right off.

I think it will fix the positive camber by lengthening BOTH tie-rods. If you think about it, currently they are shorter than they should be so they are somewhat holding the bottom of the wheels inward because even at full tilt of the of the ball joints it's still too short. If you spin them a couple threads out they should rest at their normal position. I think

Yeah, let's do it. You might want to post and see if anyone is interested. I think some of the MD people might want to so we may need to meet up again in the near future. Your car, your call.

If we're no one else is coming out to meet us, how about someplace in Arlington? Much easier to get to than Foggy Bottom.

If we're no one else is coming out to meet us, how about someplace in Arlington? Much easier to get to than Foggy Bottom. Preppy said he's coming, but since there's two of us in Arlington and one of him in DC I say we meet up in Arlington. Front Page in Ballston would work. We could also go to carpool, though I don't know if they have any specials.
