What a day I had, i went to help my dad, then as soon as i got home i called my buddy to go do some street riding... so we get on our mountain bikes and away we go, as soon as i get into southlake this friggin 16 yr old girl desides to pass cars in a no passing lane... and as soon as she moves into on coming traffic she sees the other car coming right at her and she swerves takes the front bumper and other front end damage to the guys car, when she hit that guy she slid at a pretty fast speed, and hit me while i was riding and about 15-20 ft away from the road on the gravel sidewalk area...
Luckily I'm alright, my bike is totally gone, but i have no broken bones, just a huge hematoma (sp?) on my left bicep with huge bruise, bruises and cuts and scapes on both of my legs and my right shoulder is scraped pretty badly too... from what my friend said is that when i got hit, the impact threw me off my bike, at which i was still clipped into my pedals, declipped my pedals and threw me over my friend and about 20 feet back...i think i spent bout 3 hours in the ER too But again i'm just in pain, i'm sore, and tomorrow i will be more sore... but the scrapes will heal and the bruises will go away, luckily everyone is alright... Here are some pics of my bike... I'll be alright guys, luckily for her i was not in my zhp!!!!

once agian, I stress, we need more strict of a driving test, and drivers licenses should be more expensive like in Europe.....
Glad your OK man. Just gets me pissed everytime I read about some idiot in traffic. I was driving on 635 yesterday, and this lady on a cell just decided she wanted in my lane. We're going 15 MPH and she puts on her blinker and starts moving over. I lock down my car to get out of the way, and at 15 mph I have a hard time giving her enough room. I guess she figured I would stop as to not damage my car. Hell of a mind set to take while driving.

I am not a big fan of full suspension bikes, i used to have one, that is why i went hardtail, its lighter and more rigid... but who knows if her insurance pays for a nicer bike i'm definitely gettin the new specialized s-works stumpjumper fsr120 to replace my HT stumpjumper

I will let you know about the biking... i'm still a little out of shape to keep a good pace like i used to but i'll put in all the effort to try :buttrock

Don't want to get too OT, but why have more expensive drivers licenses? That seems to imply that wealthier people drive better? I doubt that's what you really meant, but I don't see any legitimate reason to punish the poor in this way. Rich bad drivers (and their kids) will always get DL's, no matter how expensive.

So when they get taken away it is more impact, and so people will realize the impact of it. If you paid $1 for a new Enzo, would you respect it like if you had to pay $600k? I don't know if paying $1k for the education courses and the liscense would cause people to drive better, but something is working in Europe. Poeple actually drive in the right hand lanes, and rush hour traffic is as heavy there as it is here, but for some reason it flows alot faster. I also think they should put heavier fines on poeple driving without a lisense or with it suspended.

yeah... i went for lighter weight and more speed on the difficult trails that are hilly and rocky and such so i can overcome them much easier than others....
but i found some very nice specialized that i like and a couple of treks that are almost as nice, but i'm a specialized guy, while my buddy is a trek guy

not just make to make it more expensive.
for new drivers: mandatory class time, mandatory driving time with instructor, mandatory written exam, and mandatory driving exam. if you fail either exam, you have to retake the class from the beginning.
for licensed drivers: mandatory driving exam at renewal and renewal period is every 2-3 years.

there are too many people out there that can't drive, this should weed some of them out.
