Thanks brcklayr9 07-15-2005, 10:16 PM Bump Need to replace mine since installing HIDs. ti317 07-17-2005, 05:18 PM There is no fuse for the lights on the E39. The power to the lights is controlled by a module, I think it is the main module. when you turn the switch on, a signal is sent to the module which in turn sends power to the lights. No fuses, no relays. If you do not have power to the lights, you may need to reboot your car. Go to www.roadfly.com and search the archives in the E39 forum. Somewhere in there is an explanation of how to do it. Let me know if this helps. If you cannot find it, I will try to find it for you. bimmmmer145 07-17-2005, 05:20 PM but I upgrade my car from halogen to HID on the lowbeam. Am i suppose to change the fuse or something to 15 A? Thanks ti317 07-17-2005, 05:53 PM but I upgrade my car from halogen to HID on the lowbeam. Am i suppose to change the fuse or something to 15 A? Thanks Ignore that, go ahead with your upgrade. I have included a quote form the E39 message board on Roadfly. This poster, (Jim Cash) is a BMW tech and I have never found him to be off base before: "All lamps are controlled by MOSFET (power transistors) which serve as switch and fuse together." Enjoy your angels and don't worry. bimmmmer145 07-17-2005, 06:19 PM Thanks. appreciated bmrtech 07-18-2005, 12:30 AM the lights are controlled by the LCM, light control module. If both of your lights are out, there is a problem with the LCM, just change it. The part is relatively cheap and easy to install. If you are going to switch from halogen to xenon, you may have to code the LCM for xenon lights, so you don't get the lowbeam message on the Check control readout. I've done it to a few E46's before. |
