M Roady

Cruising home from class I noticed this E36 M3 on a street near my home. We get stopped at a light, he is first in the center lane I'm 2nd in the right lane. The light goes green and I get room to get behind the M3. :buttrock
I run up on his butt then get in the left lane. He keeps increasing speed, but we are already going too fast so I just give her enough to kind of keep up then I let off. He slows and we line up at about 70 mph. A couple on off throttles by both and I get a bit of a jump and start walking him. :evil2
Hate taking the jump. :( We line up again at about 45-50 mph. This time he gets the jump, it didn't last long though. We were about even at the end of second and I put a length on him not too deep into third...maybe 80 mph...before I hit the brakes.
We catch another light with traffic. I stop next to him and compliment his ///M. He asks what mine is. I say "M Roadster, same engine as yours." He responded, that's what I thought. :cool From the light I go left lane, he goes right (not racing).
One would suspect that would be the end of the fun. That wasn't the case. I get ahead and into the center lane. He works his way through traffic and gets in the right lane. We are about to line up for a run, but spot the police with a car pulled over on the far left side of the upcoming intersection about a 1/4 mile ahead.
As luck would have it, the light was red and we had no cars in front of us. Here is the intersection and the cop was heading the other way standing next to someone's driver's side window with several people standing around.

:devillook I turn to the M3 driver and say, "Do you think he would come after us?" His response, "We'll see."
Sitting at the light I hear a couple subtle throttle blips from the M3. It sounded nice and throaty. Must have an exhaust. The evil grin on my face broadens in anticipation of the light as I tap the throttle softly a couple of times. The light goes green and I'm a little tentative then I hear the M3 and it is go time! The Roadster pulls forward with the rear wheels about at the driver's side window when I shift into second. Second gear yields a very loud protest chirp from the 255/40s out back and the M Roady lurches ahead and the M3 falls behind. I run second into third. He must have given up a little distance into second.
I wasn't going to hang around to see if Johny was coming for us. I grab the next light, which happens to turn directly into my complex, toss a thumbs up out the driver's side, and proceed to take the turn too fast for the several inches of standing water on the side of the street. Not a problem with control, just that I got a good amount of spray and had to hit the wipers to see. Fortunately, the CAI didn't pick up too much water. I proceeded at a reasonable pace through the complex and lock up the Roady for the night shaking from the adrenaline rush.
If you are out there, thanks for playing Mr. M3 driver! It would be cool to get your take on the runs too.
