anyone selling a hitch..also do they all fit behind the little cover?

I have a brand new OEM hitch that I bought for my X5. I sold my trailer so I didnt install it. It is complete and includes the rear inner bumper, wiring.....everything. It cost me almost $500 from BMW :mad Anyway, it is brand new and I will sell it for $400 if you want. You may be able to get it locally for the same price if you look. It is huge and heavy so shipping would suck. I dont reccomend getting a cheap one. Thanks, Mark

thx...so this would be totally hidden right,and i just remove the cover piece when i want top use it and pop it back onn when not in use, so out of sight?...also are there different classes of hitches for weight etc..thx

It is new but not still in the boxes. There were several boxes. I think the wiring parts are still in the boxes but the other parts are huge. as far as bieng hidden, no. The square part sticks through the hole I think. Like I said, I never installed it. I dont have the part number for the kit but you can go to www.realoem.com and look them up. This kit will fit all X5's even 4.4, 4.6 and 4.8. The parts are in my attic and a pain to get to. If it is critical I will climb up there this weekend and get pix. Thanks, Mark

hey did some research...so it appears only 1 for all,(yr right)..they said with the install it replaces the rear piece of bmpr, as it wasnt desighned for towin..i'm guessing thats vthe rear inner bmpr piece yr refering to?..pls email me at www.vendettabmw@yahoo.com i am interested if it is 100%complete w/ the rear bmp piece. I realize shipping might be costly. DOES it come with the tongue and ball?..pls let me know

I sent you an email but it was returned as invalid. The trailer hitch is complete. It does include the large sheet metal inner bumper that is designed for the load of pulling a trailer that the stock one wont. I can probably ship it all by Greyhound fairly cheap. It is an awesome hitch I just don’t really need it anymore. Also, the part that slides in the receiver is included from BMW but not the actual ball since size varies.
