Hi,
I just bought a 2003 X-5 which I love, except for the fact that the stock BMW 6 cd changer skips whenever I'm on a highway that's less than perfectly smooth. It doesn't seem to happen as much around town. I am interested in getting this fixed, considering the car is still under warranty.

Has anyone experienced this problem, and if so, what did you do about it?

Thanks,
Tom

BMW changers have a "V" vertical or "H"" Horizontal position switch on the chassis that should match how your unit is installed. If vertical...switch should be in the V position. The factory and dealers almost always never set this right. If the switch in is H and unit is mounted vertical skipping will occur. You need to remove the unit to see the switch position

Crete,
You're a gentleman and a scholar. I reset the V to H on the player and the problem has gone away. Thanks!

I wish my x5 came with a cd player instead of a tape deck.

or would it be so much to ask for for the bmw stock radio to display track time when playing cds?
