Just curious to see if it beat the M5 which it most certainly will.

I hear the crickets singing in this thread. No news yet I guess. I am thinking it is going to smoke the already phenominal time of 7:52 set by the M5.

Being built off of the same platform and only a hair lighter (if at all) it'll probably come down to handling. (which it should have, what with the carbon fiber roof, etc.)

Well I would say 275 pounds is alot and the center of gravity is 2.5 inches lower so that's a pretty good advantage.

I hadn't compared their weight's side by side - 275 is quite a bit.

8 seconds is days in racing.

rumour is that with it's top speed limiter removed the M6 can break 200mph..

mos def

i believe in our BMW magazine they say that M5 (of course M6 as well) without limiter can see past 200mph

isn't the top speed already reached by 6th gear? and still has revs left in it?

also...we've seen past 155mph in the M3...are they limited to 155mph? i was thinking that it was because of a "loop-hole"...going past 155mph in 5th gear..then shifting to 6th

wonder if it's the same in the new M's
