I recently purchased the E90 (2006 325i) for myself, and I was looking at the X3 as a possible replacement for my wife's Subaru Outback. X3 owners - what are your honest thoughts and experiences with the vehicle?

We have had the 3.0 x3 for about 4 months. Absoltly love it! Have had no problems with it. We have allready recomended it to many people. It is a great all purpose vehicle. I certainly cant complain on handling, it handles great! We have no complaints and highly recomend it. Good luck

i just posted on the safety of the vehicle in another post but i'll add to it in this one. my sister has a 3.0 x3 6-speed and we like it very much. had it for about a year now pretty much problem free. i believe there was just a slight rattle behind the dashboard and that's all there was to complain about. it handles great for an suv and has plenty of usable power, especially w/ manual transmission. My sister has been in a low speed front end collision where the airbags went off and she was perfectly fine after it. very safe car as are all bmw's. i drove the x3 for about a month last summer and i enjoyed my experience with it. i say go for it. best of luck.
