I dont know if this has already been posted, but if anyone is experiencing transmission problems where the car jerks into gear from a slow start on their X5, the fix is now available from BMW. It took them close to year to develop the software, but it is now available and so far its has worked.

What year is your X5? Mine is a six month old 2005 4.4 and I've always noticed a lurch when starting from a stop. Thanks for the tip on the new S/W, I'll ask about it the next time I'm at the dealer. Of course since they only pay for oil changes every year or 15k miles that won't be for another 6 months....

Mine is an early 05, but you dont need wait, its under warranty, and they are really embarassed about this problem, so they should get you taken care of right away. Its been about two weeks since I had the download done, and so far so good!
