After a car wash or when it's raining, there is a gurgling noise around the moon roof area. It's gotta have something to do with the rubber trim, I took it to the local BMW dealership but they said they can't do anything right now, any suggestions?? THANKS.

Same deal here. Mentioned it to our BMW people in Germany and basically he said that realistically there is no way to completely seal the sunroof and allow it to have the proper drainage at the same time. Because the sunroof is so large on the X3 they had to ensure there would be proper drainage and the noise you are hearing is simply the water being carried away from the roof area.

They may be able to rectify it in the future but I don't think there is anything they can do at this point. Just turn the radio up loud. :cool

I noticed that if I drove my X3 at highway speeds after washing, I would hear that gurgling sound. There is a SIB covering installation of moonroof drain check valves. I had this done as last summer and so far so good.

That is exactly were mine sounds like it's coming from, maybe a little off center towards the passenger side but in the front for sure.
