Looking for cold air intakes for e30 m3's. Does anybody have any suggestions or comments? Any help would be great.

With the current AFM the best bet would to be to get an EVO Airbox and drop-in a K+N or ITG filter and be done with it. A cone filter is good too, but the heat off of the engine could hurt performance unless you have a really good heat shield. Even with an awesome heat shield, the cone would not gain anymore HP yields than the first setup that I mentioned unless you swapped in a MAF. Hope this helps (and was somewhat clear).

What about kirban intake, is it any good? Or does it just suffer from the same power loss problems?

I'm not familiar with Kirban intakes, but if I'm guessing it's a cone setup? Cone setups, when done correctly, can be just as good in an E30 with the stock AFM. The problem is, it takes a good cone and a really good heatshield to achieve this, so why waste the money and effort on the cone setup when AT BEST you can achieve the same results that are achieved with an EVO Airbox and a K+N or ITG drop-in. Now this is all with the AFM mind you...with a MAF conversion it's a whole different ballgame.

Like Dave said, your best bet would be to switch to an Evo airbox with K&N (unless you are in a very dusty area, K&N filters let a lot of dust go by). Then you could buy a trumpet horn (instead of that 90 degree angle intake thing (don't know the names...), and install euro tow hook covers.
