View Full Version : FS: 1998 528i 5-Speed Turbo 80k Miles $14,900.00
pimpm3 06-17-2005, 10:17 AM I am selling this car for a friend. It is a 1998 528i 5-Speed. It has a turbo kit (we don't know which one) with a water to air intercooler. The car also has Huge Brembo Brakes in the front, bilstein shocks, H&R Springs and 17 Inch Borbet Wheels. He would like $14,900.00 for the car. It is in near perfect shape and drives very well.

ashirji 06-17-2005, 01:00 PM Did your friend just buy this car? I remember it being for sale out of state some time ago. Bump for a clean 5
pimpm3 06-17-2005, 03:08 PM He got the car from BMW Financial in Atlanta. I think it was a lease turn in. He has abunch of cars at the moment and is trying to liquidate.... You should see his supra turbo it is ridiculous ;)
WhiteM32 06-17-2005, 03:39 PM Ack, looks like a mech-tech turbo.....also, this same car was for sale awhile ago except someone was selling it for there Mom.....
pimpm3 06-17-2005, 05:08 PM I just searched for and read the "mom" post. That is the same car. It is very nice, I might buy the thing my self if I can sell my 328i Sport.
Yea i saw that car being towed on the highway a while ago. I remember talking to the previous owner about it, its a mechtech turbo.
dc52241 07-06-2005, 12:20 PM Is there anyway you can figure out what turbo system is installed and where it was purchased. Been looking for a turbo for my 528i 1999 for some time
BimmerFreak 07-06-2005, 03:39 PM Yeah, its a MT turbo.
The PO is a member here, but doesnt really post much.
If you are serious about the car, I can put you in touch with the PO via AIM.
cosmos95m3 07-07-2005, 01:44 PM How fast is that thing? What is the mileage?
gofftg 07-07-2005, 06:45 PM I'm the previous owner's son - that car most definitely did not come from any financial services company - my mom paid cash for it, and we traded it in on a 2002 Acura TL to have something better for commuting, etc, around where we moved (to Conyers, GA, which has much worse traffic than our old area in NE Alabama). It has an estimated over 300hp, likely around 320 or so. I'm wondering who has it now - I traded it to a dealer in north atlanta, Georgia Auto Professionals. But yeah, it's a really cool car, my mom loved it when we lived out in the country without stop and go traffic. The only problems we ever had were it occasionally (very rarely, only noticable from fuel mileage) running too rich and having to replace thrust arm bushings, but still having some slight vibration occasionally at like 70MPH, which would disappear by 80 or 85 or so.
gofftg 07-07-2005, 06:54 PM By the way, it should have come with a huge box of 20-25k of receipts, at least I gave the box away with it when trading, and there are reciepts for the turbo and all in there...
bimrfan4948 07-16-2005, 06:34 PM Very cool and clean car. Still for sale?
sirtiger 07-16-2005, 08:24 PM that is one cool color... man, turbo 528...don't really see anythose around
supark 07-17-2005, 02:18 AM hmm - very interesting... have you done a compression check on it recently?
bimrfan4948 07-18-2005, 03:28 PM I have seen this car advertised on Autotrader. The Autotrader ad
shows this car as being located in Alpharetta GA (just north of Atlanta).
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=179828190&dealer_id=53838925
Is it located in Alpharetta or in Fla.?
I might want to have a look if it is in GA since I'm only about 15 miles
from Alpharetta.
