I am changing out my exhaust in a few weeks. I've posted a for sale before but I forgot who wanted my exhaust....Make me some offers...This time I was able to get my hands on an aftermarket exhaust.
PS. I believe that the 96-99 was a little different then the 95's.
THanks.
whatcha get ;)
good luck & bump for a great seller :wave

Would a stock M3 exhaust do much for a 323? Even 5-10 hp and I might be tempted. Thanks.

I have no idea if it will fit...anyone?

It won't fit a 323. They used a single tube exhaust system.

If you can find the exhaust from the cat-forward from a 328 or an M3 and put that on the 323 along with MWhip's exhaust, that's worth a few horsies. From what I've read that single tube exhaust is very restricting.

Would that free up more power than just getting an aftermarket cat-back designed to fit a 323? I'm sure it would be a lot cheaper probably.

I am far from an expert, but with the little research I did on the 323's, it turned out that the the major restriction in that engine's exhaust was the 2-into-1 pipe joint just ahead of the cat. So replacing the cat-back would yield you a better sound (if that's what your after) but would do very little (if anything) to improve the breathing of the engine.
The e46 323i used two pipes all the way to the manifolds. Maybe there's a retrofitting option there.

Cool, thanks for the help. I'll do some searching to see if the switch is possible and if anyone's selling the full exhaust.

you can do it with m3 mid pipes/cats and the dual exhaust
