Here are a few pics I took on thursday during the Speed World Challenge test day. Mostly RealTime Acura's (they do sign my paycheck, so deal:D ), but also a few BMW's and the coolest cars in the paddock, the Metro VW's (my good friend Kevin Schrantz is their lead driver)

And, lastly, my favorite former F1 driver, Johnny Herbert was gettng a seat made for him in a new Champion Audi R8. Sorry the pics are not great, I just got the camera 4 days ago.

Were you there for leisure purposes or business?

I was there to see my guys and talk to some teams about next season. I did get into the spare RTR Integra Type R to set some base laps for the data system. We did that so that Peter and Pierre had a base line to compare their data over after each session, mostly because their driving styles are so different that it can be hard to compare their data.

You get paid (kinda) to do this thing.

:) (keep up the good work)

The soon to be wife and I went back and hung out with the RTR boys for the race on Sunday. Jen got her first taste of ALMS and she loved it when "the cars would go by fast"...

Here are a few more pics.....

Sweet gig Brian!! Nice pics. And I would just like to say that I am glad SPEED has stayed with this series. I'd have to say that was one of the best races I have seen in a while. I can't believe how fast Taz Harvey's car is.......

Hey Brian,

In the future, PLEASE let us know ahead of time if you are going to post any spoilers. Many of us haven't watched the race yet w/ the 3 week tape delays...

Thanks,

Chris

Ummm, Chris...Sorry if I ruined it for you, but I don't have the time to please everyone. I can always just stop posting pics and you can get them from someone else.....

BTW, it was in almost one of the last pictures that I mentioned that Turner won. I never gave a full race report, and the rest of the field was far more interesting than Will's win.

Brian,

I look forward to and appreciate the great info that you give to this board. I really do.

However, I know I'm not alone in my dislike of spoilers, that's all. I simply suggested (in the nicest way that I know how) that a heads up be given if spoilers were present.

Nice of you respond like you were talking to a fucking two year old.

Thanks.

Cheese and rice Chris! This is a thread about a race you don't want to know results, so I'd suggest not even opening it untill you've seen the race. I didn't post thinking, "hey, lets put that Will won and wreck it for everyone". I posted a picture of one of the best turned out race cars on the grid and noted that he did a nice job and scored a win. In a seres where the broadcast isn't for 3 weeks, you can't expect or really even ask people to not mention or remember that you need to wait for the broadcast. I was at the race, so it was old news to me. In the future, I'd recommend NOT reading a thread that COULD contain information you don't want to know. It's much easier than yelling at me, Rob Levinson, and the rest of us. So far, you are the only person that complained about the fact that I posted Will as the winner. Now, if I'd written a full race report and gave blow by blow details and no warning, your point would be valid. This is te internet Chris, I had results and race notes from yesterdays race within minutes of the finish. Speedtv.com has results from the F1 race up before the rebroadcast, they also have full reports from the World Challenge races...3 weeks before they broadcast. Are you calling them to tell them not to post it because you want to wait for the broadcast?

There is no need to swear at me.

Brian

Okay, first off I didn't complain. Reread my post. I simply requested that in the future a warning be given if spoilers were present - a common courtesy practiced in most on-line racing forums.

Second, my request was clearly directed toward you and only you. I don't even know who Rob Levinson is.

To be honest, what really pissed me off was the "I don't have the time to please everyone. I can always just stop posting pics and you can get them from someone else....." comment.

What the hell is that supposed to mean, anyway? I mean, I never even asked to see them. I honestly can't believe that you're so arrogant as to think that I'll be somehow deprived like a child who has his GI Joe taken away. That may not have been your intended meaning, but it sure as hell looked that way.

Look, it's not that big of a deal. All I wanted to do was make a friendly reminder that not all of us were at that race, and there are a lot of us that watch these races on tape. Believe it or not, this is the first time I've had a race outcome revealed to me before I saw it this season. Why? I avoid racing news sites and generally people give a heads up before posting spoilers.

Again, no biggie.

My apologies to everyone for getting OT.

Chris

Chris, I hate to pile on, but let me interject.

The general rule with spoilers on a message board is that you DO NOT post the results in the subject. If Brian had posted the results in the subject, I'd see your problem. However, you physically clicked on a link about the MID-OHIO WORLD CHALLENGE RACE. You can only expect the race, and possibly the results to be discussed within. Some of us, who were either at the race or have friends in the race already know the results and want to be free to discuss them. You made the choice to actually read the post, so lay off Brian. He was simply posting some pics and telling about his experience at the race. If his subject had been "Some Race Pictures" or "Will Turner wins Mid-Ohio," you'd have a legitimate complaint.

If you don't want to know the results, just don't click on the topic next time.

Thanks Bryan.

Chris,
You've mistaking my being pissed off for arrogance and that is wrong. I spent a lot of time ON MY VACATION posting pictures on a 28.8 DIAL UP. You'll have to excuse me for being a bit pissed off when someone snaps about having the result posted....which happened to be on one of the very last pictures. The thread was titled Mid Ohio WC pics, so one would have to assume that at some point, the result might be floating around. As Bryan said, had the thread just been "race pics" or "Will T wins Mid Ohio WC" I'd totally understand your complaint. Yup, you never asked to see the pics, I thought I was being a nice guy and posting them for everyone to check out, especially since I get access to some places that not everyone gets to go. but I feel like I get shat on for doing a favor. Would you want to keep spending your time doing that? I'm far from a spoiled brat, I just don't like people:) Seriously though, it does upset me and lots of other people that spend their time doing something and they get told that what they did wasn't good enough. As the saying goes, you can't please all the people all the time, but you can please some of the people some of he time (or something like that)

I'm sorry if I accused you being the person who accused Rob L of posting race results earlier this year. Rob had posted a Turner press release and someone got on him in the same way. But, just the same, his thread title was something like "Turner Press Release from XXX" How could you not expect to see results posted their either?! Again, my appologies if that wasn't you.

But, my best piece of advice is that if you are worried that you might get a spoiler, don't read the thread until after you've seen the race.

And, we all have bad days, don't we...

Brian

Guys, this thing has gotten blown way out of proportion (and I'll be the first to admit that I'm at least partly responsible).

You'll have to excuse me for being a bit pissed off when someone snaps about having the result posted....

I never snapped at anyone until I got a reply that I (incorrectly) interpreted as a 'holier-than-thou' attitute. My apologies.

Yup, you never asked to see the pics, I thought I was being a nice guy and posting them for everyone to check out, especially since I get access to some places that not everyone gets to go. but I feel like I get shat on for doing a favor

Please do not take it that way. I appreciate what you did more than you realize. I was at the Sears Point ALMS race last year and took a crapload of pictures. Unfortunately I ran out of computer skills before being able to get them posted. You've got more patience than I to post 15+ pics at over 60K apiece on 28.8k.

Seriously though, it does upset me and lots of other people that spend their time doing something and they get told that what they did wasn't good enough.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I never even remotely suggested that what you did 'wasn't good enough'. How could I when you posted those pics out of the kindness of your heart? I'd kick my own ass for that one. All I did was make a simple request. I'm still frustrated that it was taken any other way.

If his subject had been "Some Race Pictures" or "Will Turner wins Mid-Ohio," you'd have a legitimate complaint.

This is exactly why I felt safe to click on the topic. It said 'Mid Ohio World Challenge Pics'. It didn't say 'Ohio World Challenge Pics and Info'. I assumed (we all know what happens when we assume) that it was going to be a bunch of cool pics (which it was), but I wasn't expecting race results. Again, this is not a big deal.

Not a problem. I remember the title of the thread, but I never looked at it for the very reason that we are discussing here.

This is my last post on this topic, but let me emphasize the following:

This is not a big deal. Words have been said that were obviously misinterpreted both ways, and I wholeheartedly aplogize for anything that may have been interpreted as a lack of appreciation on my part. This is a good forum with some great people and I'd like it to remain that way (ever been to SuperHonda.com?).

Did I mention that this is not a big deal:).
