Can I replace my headlights with those from other models?

I would guess he has stock headlights. Welcome to both of you.

I have the stock euro lights which need to be replaced. Ideally it would be great to be able to take lights from another BMW model. Something that would allow me to upgrade to HID woudl be even better :)

Pardon me for sounding somewhat redundant, but if you have the real euro headlights, why do you want to replace them? The reason I ask this is because I have a '80 euro 635. The headlights were changed to cheap-ass sealed beams to federalize the car to bring it to the states. I would love to have a set of euro headlights (those with the city light/park light in the low beam).
Let's ask some questions. Does the outer (low) beam have a high beam function also? Or does it stay the same when the highs are kicked on? If it has a low and high function, you can easily go with a good (Hella) H-4 set up. Might you be able to take some pics of the lights? Front and back? This might help with any advise.
