jterp 06-13-2005, 09:36 AM new RACING CAR  ..
'68 Dart 440. Best ET this weekend was 10.55 at 124 mph. I glued a roundel to the hood to make all of the other mopar drivers feel not only slow but POOR! as well.
Mikey52 06-13-2005, 12:28 PM Damn, nice. 10.55@124 is some TRACTION, what kinda 60'?
Ill take you in the twisties. :D
dcardenas 06-13-2005, 12:30 PM Cool car.
bah. BMWs are better. They make you feel better about yourself.

1.4xx's. It throws you back in your seat pretty hard.
jterp 06-13-2005, 01:04 PM We go racing with a couple other guys with old darts -- I got to drive the white one with the orange stripes this weekend. My best was 11.65 @113.7
(and that's my cuda in the background)
When did you pick up the Dart, Justin? It's pretty sweet. Did you drag race it in Charlotte or was this back up in Pitt?
Oh, I mean... I love BMWs-they make me feel better about myself. Any other car is teh sux.
jterp 06-13-2005, 01:43 PM I was in columbus ohio for the chrysler classic at national trails raceway this weekend. I went with my dad and his two friends. I flew into pittsburgh then drove my cuda out and the other guys towed the racecars out. The owner of the purple dart just had knee surgery so he couldn't drive his car -- so he talked the owner of the white car into driving the purple car. The owner of the white car then let me race it for the weekend (he's my dad's best friend.) While we were in the pits, we noticed the orange dart next to us with the for sale sign in the window. Price was hard to beat (think '95 M3 with 100k miles ) and we had been talking about getting another drag car, so we bought it. Plus, it's cool that we all have the same car in different colors so we can park on baseball fields and take pictures and stuff.
I'll take you in the twisties.
What's a twisty? :dunno
E36DJ 06-13-2005, 01:57 PM Looks nice, if you're looking for a shop check out FCCT in Sterling some time, my friend started it a few months back (they're getting a dyno within the next few months as well.) They work on a bunch of crazy drag cars (old camaro with a 572, F2R procharged mustang, etc..)
Ok Branko 06-13-2005, 02:04 PM Put an "01" on the side and confederate flag on the roof. That will cut your time down by seconds.
that is a sweet dart.
a good friend of mine races this mustang. his best run is 8.80@155 no nitrous. I was just talking to him yesterday, it's a 408 small block chevy on alcohol.

Jesus, Ill say.
What's a twisty? :dunno
At the end of the 1/4 mile when you have to turn off, that's a twisty. Ill take you there.
jterp 06-13-2005, 03:38 PM Are you going to keep the car in Pitt.??
Yeah -- my dad goes drag racing a lot more than I do -- so it will get more use up there.

Oh thooosse things. I can't handle those when they're real sharp. Any more than a quarter turn of the steering wheel and the front tire will hit the header. :D

Holy shyt ...... 11's are fast, 10's are just plain stupid. I can't even imagine 8's. Why a SBC in a mustang though? :( .

Yeah, my new NSX is in Cali with my parents. Too bad none of you will be able to see it. :(

I honestly do not know, I guess because he can produce more power all motor with it. Supposedly he's putting a big shot of nitrous on it, we will see. He has a Street Mustang too, little newer a 92 I believe and the motor being built now is going I think is a 421 that should with 770 at the wheels with 26psi out of a Vortec V1 S Trim.
What Motor is in your cobra?
Charisma 06-13-2005, 03:53 PM Fricken sweet! I'm a proud owner/co-owner of a 1968 Chevy Camaro. 572 with a blower on it... had a Nova with a 396 I believe. Camaro runs 7-8 1/4 mile, Nova ran 11's all day.

Oh yeah? I'm heading out west in a few weeks.. maybe I can stop and see it?

Well, obviously it working for him if he's going 8's...
Cobra motor is a built/balanced SBF -- DSS 306 block, DSS CNC fly-cut pistons, roller rockers & lifters, Comp Cams HR266, Typhoon intake, AFR 165 heads .. etc etc etc.. Desktop dyno software says the combo should make 400 at the crank -- I think that's a little optimistic though. I haven't had a chance to get it on a real dyno, but would really like to.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell, seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I would buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut. Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum, the thing iiiiiiiiiis................Ok, here's the truth. The owner is going to Japan to personally ensure that I get all the correct parts. He is going to close down the shop and take the keys with him. He is going to put a cover over the car too so you wouldn't be able to look in window to see it either.
Oh well. Maybe some other time. :( :dunno
