....but I'm thinking about ditching the M3 for a P car. Anybody interested in a 2005 M3 Comp? About 7,000 miles already, and driven relatively easy, unless someone needed to be humbled (and by somebody, that includes me).

This is just a feeler. I haven't decided yet.

In all honesty, I miss the modding game. It's tough to mod this car and see big and reliable gains. Like, extremely tough. I'm thinking about a used 996 911TT. They can be had for unbelievably cheap these days (I know, it's all relative). I would love (I mean with a capital L) to find a low mileage 993 911 Turbo. Those are my favorite cars of all time.

We'll see. I've got time on my side. I can wait to find the right one. My question is: will I ever be satisfied with the car I have? I sure hope so.

Dot! Dot! Dot!
Those 993 TT w/ low miles are out there... They just cost as much as a new 996TT... :(

 Only 7K miles and already wanting more power... :D

It's addictive, isn't it?

My friend has been pressing me to get a Supra TT. There is one that is oh-so-sweet in Arizona with 800 rwhp (like 470 rwhp at 15 psi). It looks very clean. Low miles, red, targa.

We shall see. I've already gotten an offer on the M3 from a guy on the Porsche forums. It looks like a lot of the Porsche guys use M3's as daily drivers.

Stop it! Stop it!
Just reading this thread is making me ponder whether I shouldn't upgrade to a TT and an M3 or Vessel5 as a daily driver. This morning I was perfectly happy with the C4S. What is going on?

If we all get twin turbos, can we still hang out here?

If you seriously want to mod a TT don't spend the extra 20k for a low mileage (<20k miles) one. Good ones in the 30k-40k mile range can be had for ~$65k.

Have you checked out the Rennlist 993 turbo forum? (http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=62)

If you want to see some very nice low mileage pcars check out this guy. Richard Sloan Cars (http://www.sloancars.com/inventory.htm)

Another dealer with an impeccable reputation is Truespeed. (http://www.truspeedmotorcars.com/) And you might guess that I'm partial to this clean one-owner with 16k miles.

Thanks for the suggestions, GTiGuy. I'll check those out.

I like that maroon TT, but the interior looks like it'd be a magnet for dirt. Plus, I just don't like lighter color interiors. Medium grey is as light as I'll go.

Gentlemen and women,

I have a tough decision to make (I love these decisions!). I've decided not to spend very much on my next car (relative to what I was going to spend) due to some real estate that I am attempting to close on. I have an offer for $50,000 on my car, without really doing any advertising. I found a very excellent go-between car until next year. I want to see what happens with 996 GT2/GT3/911tt prices in the next year or so, and also the new M5. So, my dilemma is, do I sell the M3 while I still have value in it (I think value may drop rather quickly when the new //M3 comes out), or do I hold on to it, buy this car:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=179101939&dealer_id=56037403&car_year=1995&search_type=used&make=BMW&transmission=Manual&model=M3&distance=0&address=84108&make2=&advanced=y&certified=&max_mileage=75000&max_price=&min_price=&end_year=1999&color=&start_year=1993&drive=&isp=y&engine=&body_style=COUPE&doors=&fuel=&lang=en&cardist=1723

^^
(this car is, IMO, the 993 turbo S of BMW cars...meaning that value will be retained)

and drive around for the next year in this (and if anybody has a beater for $1,000, let me know)?

Really cool car.
I'd sell before you hit that Magic 5K mile mark... If you haven't already :devillook
Don't worry too much about the E90 M3's, they won't be out 'till 2007.

You're all over the place Brad! :rofl

PS, I Love that E36...

OMG... Brad.

LTW is sick... but I thought you wanted a FASTER car???

whats going on here?
I have lost my footing in this thread. It feels like a whirlwind.

you would be the Utah E36 GOD - with a low mileage lightweight.

BUT Brad you must realize that this car will drive NOTHING like your comp.
this car does not even appear to have airconditioning from the factory.
(it is currently like 91 degrees on Highland Drive)

Lux Alcantera seats.. meh...

You would miss the luxurious feeling of your Comp.. and all the cushy body roll from the comp. suspension.
This car has few creature comforts, despite the dual oil pan pick-ups.

Wow. Nice car, but. I dunno if I would spend that type of cash on a car like that to drive. I would store that car.

The comp would be dearly missed.

As Ma always said, if you don't know what to do, do nothing at all.

Life's too short not to drive a car you really love. Keep the Comp until you're ready to move into the P-car. The interest on the difference between the comp and that '96 M3 is not that much when you make the kind of money you are obviously making. Also, there are significant transactional costs in selling and buying that would probably swallow up any interest savings.

As modern day philosopher and story teller Tim McGraw says, "Live life like you're dying."

Those wheels own me. However, I would NEVER put a GT2 wing on a 911 turbo. It's hypocritical and sacrilegious.
