I have a question about Utah's very own high profile court case...
I heard a teaser last night saying they had new information on Hacking that 'changed everything' Then this morning it said they found kiddy porn on his computer.
So, how does that change a MURDER case? I may be wrong, but I would consider him shooting his wife and throwing her in a dumpster MUCH worse than takin a peek at underdressed underage kids...:dunno

It shouldnt affect the murder charge, but it might be its own seperate offense for which he could be tried and convicted of, and may receive additional prison time for that alleged offense. Plus he might get put into that sex off. registry with his address being listed as "State Pen."
What a creep.

Maybe not until he's convicted though...

I don't do criminal law, but I do know that Hacking got 6 to life. I think that means that the Parole Board could let him out in as quick as six years. Not likely to happen, but that's within their discretion.
If convicted for kiddie porn, the mandatory prison term could be lengthened. Query whether it makes sense to spend state resources to pursue that charge when it is highly unlikely that Hacking will get out of prison before he is a very old man.

I understand there was a lot of porn, but only 1 photo of kiddie porn. Which yes, is one too many, but I wonder if they would prosecute with only one shot. It would be a lot easier if there we multiple photos.
