So my roommates (Simsima325 & Tinman) and I are starting up this weekly 10 cent wings and $1 beers night on Tuesdays here in DC.

We start off the night by going to 51st State (on Pennsylvania Ave near 26th St. NW) for the 10 cent wings (c'mon, 20 wings for $2??? So worth it) and then roll over to McFadden's for the dollar beers.

So who's in for this?

PS, $1 High Life starts at 9, so Wings will start at like 7:30 or so :)

We did 6:30 @ 51st State last time...and that was a bit on the early side as the $1 beers at McFadden's doesn't begin till 9pm.

I'm gonna go ahead and make the call time @ 7pm. Can't guarantee there won't be a wait (cause there probably will be) and cannot assure that we'll all be sitting together. But we will coordinate going to McFadden's together :)

How many people did you have come out? You might be able to talk a local bar/restaraunt that isn't busy to create a discount/special for you guys to come in on a regular night. :dunno

In that case, you just need to find a REALLY empty local bar. If you make it a regular gathering, the crowd should grow. Approach them as a business proposal. They get business on a normally empty night and you get discounted food or drinks. If a place is empty enough, they might be willing to work something out. What have you got to lose? It only takes a couple minutes to ask a manager... They throw some free wings at you and would easily make their money back off the first round of drinks.

Preppy, we all appreciate your efforts to get everyone together. I hope you don't construe our (my) complaints as a lack of gratitude.

Personally, I think we should do Froggy Bottom, or just get away from the college bar scene. They see a bunch of young people come in for the specials and they think they'll get a bad tip so they don't treat us right. Little do they know that's it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. I've just had better luck elsewhere.

I'll push for Bethesda. It's metro accessible, slightly older crowd (depending on the place), the roads aren't as bad a DCs and it is close to me. :D

I took the Metro for 5 years.... and hated it! I'll avoid it whenever possible. The city roads are pathetic so I won't drive there anymore. I'm not quite sure where the money goes. They now have red light and speed cameras yet they can't pave a single stretch and have it last more than a week?!?!? I would rather spend my time/money elsewhere. Every time I go into DC, it pisses me off.
