No Problem.
Next one is July 12th (always 2nd tuesday). I should be bringing a safety video from the scca that has some head and neck restraint info in it.

I'm up for a drive whenever the car is back out of the shop.

Any Bimmerheads in the Columbia SC or surrounding area, come out to the Sonic on Harbison tonight and/or tomorrow night. My car won't be out there till next weekend, but I will be, so if I see you, I'll come up and speak. There's a guy with an M3 that usually comes out, and another fellow with a E46 who I haven't talked to much. A friend of mine has a M-Roadster (silver w/ blue top). He comes out a lot. I want to see more BMW's!

I'm going to be out on Harbison Blvd tonight. If you're in the area and not out of gas, why don't you stop by? There are a lot of car afficionados that meet out behind Sonics and Rush's. I'll be out there hanging with my domestic buddies, but I always make a point to try to get in touch with the BMW guys/gals!

If you want a local events forum, might I suggest http://www.carolinarides.com. It's focused on SC/NC car enthusiasts.

Hey, I met you when you were tryin to get some bmw guys together at world market. I will be out there one of these days, I am just finally getting my engine together (built s/m50) give me another month and it will be running.

Also, if you go by Philips auto on two notch rd, they are working on I think craig leiberman's old blue widebody e46 m3, it is sweet, worth the trip to go see it.

I dont know where there are not more Charleston people on here. I see at least a dozen e36 and e46's here in a normal day, yet I havent seen a single person from Charleston on the boards :/

There is a mean M3 that I see every once and a while, looks like its techno violet with black rims, would love it if that guy was on the boards. That machine is beastly.

I'm also in Charleston, and would have to agree.... most people here driving BMW's don't seem to be driving them for the handling...

I can't seem to find any car enthusiasts here in Chas in general...with the obvious exception of the mustang/camaro/old school mopar guys at lowcountry dragway...

I was in the Southern Mustang And Ford club here in Charleston when I had my Lightning. Yeah, you can find them at Low Country alot. I'm not really into the prices of Low country and some of their restrictions.

If you ever go to Dorchester Dragway on Sun. or Wed. you will see my Evo there. I have a few friends with 1G DSM's, too. I'll be there tomorrow night around 730-8pm.

Are you a member of 4g63hp.com? It has a section for the "Low Country" in there.

I've only been to Dorchester a couple of times, both times they were not running. You know how good their website is.

I read quite a few dsm sites, but 4g63hp.com isn't really one of them, maybe I should give it another look. Did you get your evo at Chas mitsu, I came very close to buying an evo from them. If you guys are going to be out at dorchester, I'll try to come out....

Dorchester's website hasn't really been maintained in a long, long time!! The phone number isn't even correct anymore.

4G63hp has alot of Charleston guys on it. I don't really post much there, but that's because it's members are more 1G owners.

I did buy my evo from CHS mitsu. The service manager there rocks. He doesn't give a hoot about mods as long as you aren't running stand-alone or piggy-back.
Suspension, TBE, intakes, BOV/DV, are free game. I don't know about MBC/EBC, though, so I would just take them back off for major work. . He's an ex-VR4 owner and is really cool about warranty work.

If Dorchester is open tonight, then I will be there. I just call ahead to see if they are open.

If someone would donate to the "Help PJ get a Truck" fund, I would be able get a bigger grill, transport it ANYWHERE, and finally get a crotch rocket:buttrock

LMAO about the landlord, but its understandable.

Well if you are offering up your house. I guess we can pitch in and buy the food, sounds like a fair trade to me. Anyone else interested besides me and PJ, or is it destined to be a gruesome two-some?

No shit, I just got back from a midnight cruise with the top down....in the middle of November....wtf!:buttrock

After thanksgiving is game for me...

Besides if its cold for the first one...just gives us something to look forward to the next time. Seems this could make for a fun monthly event. Especially once AutoX season opens up. Have an AutoX and then off to a grill out. :redspot

Well, PJ since you are supplying the house, I guess you get to give us a few preliminary dates and we can go from there.

Bimmerboy u need to bring that Z3 out to the shoot.

The Zed is mauled right now due to unskilled southern women drivers in overlarge, poorly designed and american engineered SUVs. Therefor it is not photo worthy in its current state. Plus the top is f'ed due to jealous young teenagers mad they I was dating there women and driving a pimp ass car, but that can be solved by simply employing the power of the drop top.

I would love to go tho, but right now, things dont look plausable, unfortunately. Although I believe a few guys, Thom and Im gonna drag PJ along, are gonna try to go to the Harbison lot on the eve of saturday. I will bring my stripper girlfriend along to taunt you all with the thoughts of what activities and endevours I will be divulging in later that evening. So then you can add "Has A Hot Girlfriend' on your list of reasons to envy me, right along with "Drives a Hotter BMW Than I." That is if she doesnt have to work, although I will still be divulging at any rate. :redspot

So Redrum, come to the lot and lets all get harrassed by the cops as a unified german automotive enthusiast group.

Well I threw the peake tool on tonight and it gave me a code for Cam Position Sensor. But the CEL is gone. So if ya dont mind PJ, Imma hold the tool for a few days to see if it comes back.

I will also talk to that guy tomorrow about the m50 manifold for ya. Keep in mind, its just the manifold, so you will still new some small things, but its cool, we can work on that.

While at PJs, we determined I cant play Enthusia for shit. :help

Well I threw the peake tool on tonight and it gave me a code for Cam Position Sensor. But the CEL is gone. just use the peake tool to reset the code memory, the code will disapper, and if it reappears, this will be an indication that the cam sensor is not right or that the wiring is the issue (esp if you just repaced it). you need to reset the memory to determine if the sensor is corrected or if there is still some issue.

It might be the brake pad wear sensors and your pads are eating your rotors. Which isnt good. Might wanna jack and remove wheel and check pronto, especially before leaving for chuck-town.

They are TSW Kayalami's

19x8 Front and 19x9.5 TSW Kyalami's (5x120)
235/30/19 Front Ventus & 265/30/19 Ventus Rear
Tires are in good shape, no cupping or anything like that

And I do need a trade on them b/c I sold my stockies. I was looking to downgrade to an 18" or maybe some M68s. Wheels/Tires must be in good shape for trade

The e30 looks like just what I am after, how is it mechanically, I remember the clutch needed replacement, how much life does it have left, any thing else?

The grillout sounds great, but I will be out of town on the 17th:( , so hopefully it will end up on the 10th, and later on in the day cause I work til around 4 on saturdays

Alright, so, spread the word that there are SC people here on BF.c, since apparently we're coming out of the woodwork. If you have friends who aren't on this list, let them know that they need to join. It'll be nice to have some BMW's to roll with when I go out.

I agree. There HAS to more more charleston people on the boards here, and if there isnt they should be. I see all kinds of BMWs around here, and not just the typical owners, I'm talking a bunch of nice e36s and e30s that are obviously enthusiast owned.

All I know is that in my 3 mile drive to work this working I saw a 318ti in agean blue (I think, rare color I've never seen), a really nice 325is, and a very clean e46 M3. There is also this monster e36 M3 that I see once in a blue moon. Black rims, 5% tint all around, some sort of exhaust, its a beast. I would love to check it out some time

I know there's a Pee Dee group of the Sandlapper BMW CCA, that might be worth a look. You're in luck, their meeting is this week.

Dec. 15, 2005: Charleston Area Club Meeting, 6 PM, Bessinger's BBQ, 1602 Savannah Hwy., West Ashley, Charleston, SC.

Also, there are 3 or 4 318ti's down in Chucktown according to our forum, I haven't met any of them in person though.

gooten1
12-27-2005, 01:23 PM
It would involve organizing...getting all the interested members signed up, getting a rough head count of people/cars coming, talking to sponsors/companies about sponsoring, getting a location (I thought about one of the malls)...that sort of thing.

Sponsors would be asked to bring a few of their products to raffle off, and bring a tent and other stuff they'd be interested in selling at a car show.

For the location, we'd need plenty of parking with easy access.

Last year, the show was down in Orlando, which is only central to the Florida members. For everyone else, it's a big trip.

It was held over the summer last year, no specific date as of yet.

Sound more like:

I can ask Nick how much they charge SCCA when we do an autoX so it could give you an estimation.

Is there any place in this area you would go to for a clutch?

gooten1

Definately Imports Only. I give them all my business, and it doesn't take all of my money. They're good guys who know what they're doing.

I would recommend that you don't take your car to The Gourmet Garage. It took them 3 weeks to change the stock clutch in my car. They still didn't get it quite right, something is still screwed up in there, it doesn't sync right.

If you have to go to someone else, go to Phillips Auto, there on Two Notch Rd. They can do anything the dealer can do, but they're more expensive than Imports Only.
