View Full Version : South Carolina???
house98 08-02-2006, 02:44 AM Hello guys/gals.
Just introducing myself. Been looking over the forums for a while.. decided to do a 'south carolina' search, and here we are :-)
ahhh the good 'ol dorm life. Graduate of USC myself. I've got an office downtown, so if anyone wants to grab lunch one day, lemmie know.
Oh, yeah I've just gotten into 'tweaking'/'personalizing' my car recently, and tips would be great. Money's not falling off of trees, but I don't want plastic gear-shift knobs either :D
I'm really in the market for some nice rims, style 50 or the 'sporty' verison of them : http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=573663
Hope to get to meet some of you guys some day.

Myself, and PJ (my boss, :devillook ) work off Farrow Rd, so we are pretty close to downtown. What office, and where is it located? We could probally work out a lunch meet.
BimmerBoyZ3 08-02-2006, 08:58 AM cool man... i'm staying in bates...
what time are you guys going to be doing the autox stuff because i'd love to make a quick trip if it's at a decent time
1st Car Out is at 10am. Things usually wrap up around 3-4pm.

Welcome to the South Carolina thread!! :)
The only tip I have for tweaking/personalizing is . . . DO IT :buttrock
I prefer the sleeper look personally . . .and Dustin is the carbon fiber kid :stickoutt
But by all means do what you like . . . .

house98 08-02-2006, 09:58 AM Haha. Yeah, my office is <st1:street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">1401 Main Street, Suite 830</st1:address></st1:street>. It's at the corner of Main and <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Washington</st1:place></st1:state>. It's an all-glass building, that looks like it's got a pink'ish hue to it -- some might even say a salmon color *yummie!*
As for tweaking, I just got a great deal from a guy on eBay ... maybe 10 minutes ago. We've been talking for the last 2 weeks, organizing everything that I'm going to be getting.
These are all cosmetic... but
What I've recently got:

Used Left (and right) Clear fog lights (got one busted out recently when I hit a mattress on Hwy. 26... a friggin MATRESS! look new) : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&item=330010847710

And this isn't an advertisement, just links and info if you guys are interested.

8ball 08-02-2006, 02:02 PM Sheesh PJ tha title is about as vague as the IT field. Why don't you just say you tell folks what to do on computers. From what Dustin says that's more realistic. LOL

Vague is good. . . .as long as I get paid what I want. . . who cares what title I have . . .
Besides . . . From the vast and vague background in IT positions, from peon to peoner, I have been in . . . . I think it fits me rather well.
And Dustin is getting as bad as me :D here at work. He volunteers VERY well . . . but he is more on bf.c than me . . .
Whoops . . .gotta run and check an auction for this Gundam I want :redspot

He uses that term loosely. I never remember volunteering, but it always seems I did at one point in time. :confused

Possibly. Depends on how good your ex is, and if your ex requires a paid internship or not :D

You want all graphic/print media, or a mix of graphic, paintings, drawings?
house98 08-03-2006, 10:49 PM You want all graphic/print media, or a mix of graphic, paintings, drawings?
Well, our focus is web development (both from a graphical standpoint, and a userbility/application functionality standpoint), as well as print development (logo's, business cards, letterhead, magazine ads... etc)
Rarely, if ever, have we had a need for free-hand drawing/painting, however you never know what's around the corner.

house98 08-04-2006, 12:17 PM I got mine from Philips. I feel they do a good job, and are honest about the time involved. Jason's in charge of the shop there.
STAY AWAY FROM GERMAN AUTOMOTIVE in west columbia ... ripoff company from heckz0r!
8ball 08-04-2006, 12:58 PM Hey spekaing of Road Atlanta, are we still doing Petit Lemans for sure? If so I need to set my vacation time. Dustin are you still getting the tent? I don't wanna be sleeping in my car. If this is a for sure thing that you guys aint backing out on then I'll get my tickets too. I definately wanna do this.
PJ325i 08-04-2006, 01:29 PM Mike:
I just purchased my tickets (4-day + infield parking = $100). I'm buying a two man tent cuz I need one when I start trail riding. For me. . . .yes I will be there when the trucks roll in :) I'm going to call and see if I can start camping Tuesday evening :)
8ball 08-04-2006, 02:16 PM I'm thinking about getting VIP, for $275. It includes meals, alcohol, and Air conditioning. If you are for sure goin then I will do the same. You have to pay 25 to camp also, do you know if that is per person or per tent? You need to call me sometime so we're on the same page. You think you would get VIP if I did?
PJ325i 08-04-2006, 02:38 PM You are big time Mike. . . .LOL
I'm not a DoD baller like you :stickoutt
Besides . . . I'm getting a mini grill :) that will be plenty for me . . .
8ball 08-04-2006, 02:46 PM I'm mainly looking at it for the A/C. How much you think we'll spend in food and drinks for 4 days?
PJ325i 08-04-2006, 03:01 PM A/C . . . :) I hear ya brotha . . . . I was gonna call next week and see about $25 camping deal.
Dunno about the food. I was figuring small stuff like burgers, dogs, and canned items. . . and truck it to a close restaurant if need be.

8ball 08-07-2006, 07:19 PM Hey anybody want some brand new 225/45/16's????? I got a set with stickers that I probably don't need anymore now that I realize how wide these damn rims are!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll get them mounted and balanced and really see how they look but I think their gonna be euro and I don't really want it like that.
PirateJake 08-08-2006, 01:10 AM i'm dirt poor after buying almost every possible component to make my front end look sweeter... i'll get around to posting pics someday

How wide are the rims again? 9inch or 8inch?
8ball 08-08-2006, 09:28 AM they're 16x8's but the tires look like they will be stretched. I think I wil have them mounted today and see how they look. Any decent place open after 6pm to get tires mounted without scratching the shit outta black rims?

Not sure how late Nutall stays open. But that would be where I go.
8ball 08-08-2006, 10:52 AM Is that the one by Imports Only?
BimmerBoyZ3 08-08-2006, 10:56 AM Is that the one by Imports Only?
Sure is. And I dont think 225 on an 8 inch rim is going to be TOO stretched. A 235 would be better, but Ive seen a lot of people do 225 on them just fine.
viper501 08-08-2006, 11:26 PM Any good body shop in Columbia?
Dent's Automotive (ironic I know). They are slow but excellent.
house98 08-09-2006, 01:56 PM I just got (or am waiting to arrive) a set of 17" rims.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=180013163846&ih=008&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
I think the wheels they have now are 235/45/ZR17 Bridgestone Perez(sp?) ...
I'm looking for a set online (I don't mind a used-pair off ebay until I find a nice set). Any reccomendations? I'm not an aggressive driver, as I dont' travel much... but I would like a set of nice low-profile, good wet/dry traction without a lot of noise, and fit into a $300 budget (to get started... again used is ok).
thoughts?

Kumho SPT is good all around tire.
Dustin and I run them as daily driver and AutoX. So far in the rain, they are superb. They are super quiet and wear really good.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=ECSTA+SPT&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=345WR7KU31XL&fromCompare1=yes&place=1
$88 a pop from Tire Rack :buttrock
8ball 08-09-2006, 03:08 PM Flaken Ziex 512 are a nice tire also from my experience on the 325. They are good in water and an average street tire. 79 bux a piece @ edgeracing. Probably not as nice as the Kuhmo's but if you're not serioulsy racing you won't miss much. Treadwear is higher also which theoretically means longer life.
PJ325i 08-09-2006, 04:23 PM Duh . . . I forgot about those . . . And I was the one who bought em . . . Does that mean you changed the tires, Mike ;)
8ball 08-09-2006, 04:58 PM I changed from the Azenis to the 512's shortly after the race because the 540 needs an ABS controller so I stopped driving it while I get my money together. I'm getting my 16's mounted tonight and we'll see if the rub the fenders or not.
8ball 08-09-2006, 06:15 PM So much for mounting tonight. I guess it will be tomorrow. I have better things to do for 2 hours than wait in a tire shop.
PJ325i 08-09-2006, 06:17 PM Whoops. . . .that sucks. On another note . . . you ready for O'burg? I haven't touched the car yet. I'm waiting on front shocks and other items to arrive.
8ball 08-09-2006, 07:48 PM I guess I'm ready. I think the car may need brakes and I'm not sure if the new tires will be mounted and scrubless by then but I can run it in the current configuration just fine.
house98 08-09-2006, 10:10 PM Thanks for the tips guys... though curious as well what a good trade off is for the size of the tires...
235/45/17 ... or can i still have a good treadlife on a 235/40 (or can i get even 'lower' and fater?
:-)
PJ325i 08-09-2006, 11:30 PM I think the 235/40 for a 5'er is an inch too short . . . it would effect you gear a bit.
house98 08-09-2006, 11:59 PM Ok, what about the width of the tire... is it silly to want to go wider? 245... 255 ? Wanting to buy some tonight or early tomorrow :-) so any last minute info is greatly appreciated.
PJ... thanks for that tire-tip. I've been reading great reviews. Exactly what I was looking for.
PLUS, between now and august 12th tirerack has a $40 mail-in rebate on these tires. :-) woot.
BimmerBoyZ3 08-10-2006, 08:09 AM You two knobbins have fun in O'burg and kick some ass for me.
I will be making a trip to go visit my brother in AL. Family comes first.

Nah . . .Wider is cool as long as it fits. I have 255/40/17 on the rear of my M3 :buttrock
Give Jim @ the TireRack a call . . . he's really really helpful. I think you can get away with 255/40/17 in the rear and 235/25/17 in the front . . .
I'm not sure if you can run 255s up front . . . give Jim a call. He's usually here on the forums in the Tire & Wheel Forum.
Make sure what ever combo you get, it matches. My M3 has 235/45/17 on the front and 255/40/17 on the rear. Both are 1 inch bigger than the normal 225/45/17 and 245/40/17 factory tires. I have to remember my car is SLOWER than the speed on the speedometer.
8ball 08-10-2006, 12:45 PM Holy crap PJ edit your post, you got him buying 25 series tires? and 14 inches in diameter. What you drinking today???????

I dont know but maybe I need to go into his work fridge and get some. :stickoutt
house98 08-10-2006, 01:18 PM Thanks again PJ. I was ready to move on the tirerack side... but lucked up and found some "Dunlop SP Sport 235 45 17 Almost New Tires BMW Audi ZR" tires on ebay.. 'shipped' for $267 -- hard to beat that. They're 9.5/32 out of 10/32 (new). I'm very comfortable with that.

DonZ3 08-10-2006, 04:30 PM Who all plans to attend the O'burg autoX?
The wife wants me to sit this one out, she is afraid that I will break the car just before the BMW Roadster Homecoming, and spoil our plans for that week.

Im out. Going to visit my brother in AL that weekend.
PJ325i 08-10-2006, 06:52 PM Mike, Jay, and I will be there . . .
Does anyone know if John decided which autox to attend?
Dad and I are in. :cool

JByrd 08-11-2006, 12:30 AM Mike, Jay, and I will be there . . .

I'm entered in both and want to keep options open. I hate to miss NCAC, but I really want to go to O'burg.
Got sum new computishun comin' out - Matt Palombi in his CRX is joining STS2. On the other hand, there are 2 nationally prepped CRXs entered for NCAC (meaning I have no chance to win). However the fight for 3rd place vs. the other 7 entries should be quite a contest.
I wish those aholios hadn't moved NCAC to the same wk end as O'burg....orginially it was scheduled a week earlier.
JByrd 08-11-2006, 12:37 AM BTW, Dustin, if you think the stock front sway bar on a Z3 isn't stiff enough..

Kinda looks like PJ....HuH?
PirateJake 08-11-2006, 01:26 AM i wish i could make it to orangeburg but that's my move-in day...
however, i'll be sure to make an appearance in sept.
i'd love to get a ride with somebody too and see what the autox thing is all about

8ball 08-11-2006, 08:24 AM Hey Jbyrd has a site been finalized for the 24 hour autox yet? I'd love to go but I really need to know where it is as I have plans in GA that same weekend. I'm hoping to swing by for atleast a few hours.

Yes, it will be held at the Continental Tire plant in Charlotte which is just off I-77 at the first exit north of Carowinds. That's the second exit as you come across the state line from SC, and the third exit north of Knights Stadium - I think.
I will post up here when registration is open (prolly about 2 weeks or so before the event).
JByrd 08-11-2006, 11:23 AM Ok... so everyone here races their bimmers?
Quite a few of us autocross and/or track cars here, house98. As for actuall "wheel to wheel" racing, I'm not sure we're there yet. and I gave up on that idea a long time ago.
To old to start worrying about it now.....:) .
How ever, these guys in SC know how to have fun with Bimmers even when they're not "racing."

I wouldnt count us out of wheel to wheel yet. I've decide my e30 is going to be built to Spec E30 rules. :devillook

I was thinking about taking out my "Oh sh*t!!" handles :)

I'm probably the most wild driver outta this little group we have. I keep trying to convince myself that it's "controlled aggression". :help :D

house98 08-11-2006, 01:29 PM you guys are nuts.
What about a meet-up next week for some lunch ? (Columbia/Downtown, Vista, 5-Points, Irmo... wherever..)
DonZ3 08-11-2006, 01:59 PM You guys should make it out for a ride with PJ, trust me, you won't forget it. Best time to ride with him is on his first fun run, and that comes later in the day. So get your work done early, and come out to O'burg when you can.
JByrd,
Nice picture! Where was that taken at? And what is this 24hr autox?
PJ325i 08-11-2006, 04:46 PM you guys are nuts.
What about a meet-up next week for some lunch ? (Columbia/Downtown, Vista, 5-Points, Irmo... wherever..)
Yea . . . we can think up something . . .
8ball 08-11-2006, 06:00 PM My girlfriend went for a fun run ride with PJ and will never do it again. She said she'll only ride on a competition run now. PJ tends to have lots of sideways fun while in fun runs. He's not quite a drifter but he tries really hard.
Jbyrd, thanks I'm looking forward to that registration, will it be limited?
PJ325i 08-11-2006, 09:17 PM He's not quite a drifter but he tries really hard.
Only the license plate frame says it :cool

I would never count you out of anything, Dustin.
JByrd 08-11-2006, 09:31 PM JByrd,
Nice picture! Where was that taken at? And what is this 24hr autox?
Don, it's actually a video capture done by Kurt Davidson. Kurt is one of Dustin's Miata driving E-Stock nemesis(PL?).
JByrd 08-11-2006, 09:40 PM Jbyrd, thanks I'm looking forward to that registration, will it be limited?
The 24 Hours probably will be limited, but I'm not really sure. I will let you know as soon as reg is open though.
So many people just come for either Saturday or Sunday, I don't think it will be a problem. I'll be splitting time between Charlotte and Spartanburg myself.
Why the heck BMW went and scheduled Roadster Homecoming on the same day as the 24, I'll never know!!!!!
Anyway, last year I had a "podium finish" in the homecoming autocross with the 2.8. I'd really like to repeat a 4 cylinder. Probably hasn't been done since Homecoming #1 - not including last year's winner who was driving a DA supercharged 1.9.....but I want to do it without the SC.
Probably be the last chance, because next year I have a feeling there are going to be some a lot of the new M coupes there, and that's probably going to be an exceptional autocross car.
PJ325i 08-12-2006, 12:01 AM Good Luck!!
PirateJake 08-12-2006, 01:06 AM haha... no worries about leaving the passanger seat worrying for my life... my uncle works at the michelin proving grounds in laurens and i had a chance to catch a ride with one of the test drivers down there... those guys basically drive in a large circle pushing the tach to redline with the car completely sideways... it's amazing stuff to watch/experience... 40/50 mph sideways is nothing short of extraordinary
JByrd 08-12-2006, 10:12 AM haha... no worries about leaving the passanger seat worrying for my life... my uncle works at the michelin proving grounds in laurens and i had a chance to catch a ride with one of the test drivers down there... those guys basically drive in a large circle pushing the tach to redline with the car completely sideways... it's amazing stuff to watch/experience... 40/50 mph sideways is nothing short of extraordinary
Yeah, but PJ is capable of 60 mph backwards and sideways!:D
.....at the same time!
PJ325i 08-12-2006, 10:16 AM While eating Driftitos . . . .
PirateJake 08-12-2006, 01:18 PM While eating Driftitos . . . .
hahaha, where can i pick up a bag of those?
8ball 08-12-2006, 04:52 PM But PJ isn't actually controlling his car while going backwards and sideways at 60mph which is the scary part. Everyone in the car is just along for the ride including him.
PJ325i 08-13-2006, 08:01 PM Woooowhoooo!!!!!
:freak
Now Mike, you know you had fun @ O'Burg when the E36 was all over the place . . . If I remember correctly . . .according to you, "PUSH IT . . . PUSH IT. . .DON'T BRAKE . . . YEAH. . . YEAH . . .THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!" :alright
8ball 08-13-2006, 10:46 PM Yes I was saying that but you know I'm just as crazy as you and I can admit it. Give me something with a tad more horsepower and I'd drive as wild as you in fun runs. Remember I taught myself how to drift with a 405hp monster, I never refined my skills I just used brute power to keep a car sideways. So far all I've learned about this E30 is that until I get some worn suspension bushings fixed it's very twitchy at the edge. Speaking of which when are we ever gonna have an install party to get all my parts on???? :evil2
BTW, Can you believe I've gotta replace 2 ABS controllers at the same time now!!!!!!! This is going to be a rough month.:eyecrazy
PJ325i 08-13-2006, 11:11 PM You know. . . .I was telling Olin that me and your driving style are somewhat similar. . . hehe
When is the next AutoX after O'burg? My struts haven't come in yet . . .I may Have to try to whoop some ass with blown struts :rofl
We can shoot for a date after this AutoX . . . I have never done subframe bushes, so you'll have to depend on Dustin for that one. . . but as long as food is involved I'll help :D
2 controllers . . .ahhh damn . . .that sucks. My fan should be in this week from my cone incident. A cat in NC had one for sale. $$$$ out the window :(
Graham325 08-14-2006, 05:27 AM I have never done subframe bushes, so you'll have to depend on Dustin for that one
those are some tricky bastards, my driver's side was a peice of cake, the passenger side took me forever, dont bother trying to make tools etc. just burn them out with a propane torch, but be careful, the gas tank is right there, unless you drop the whole thing, then its easy
BimmerBoyZ3 08-14-2006, 08:32 AM those are some tricky bastards, my driver's side was a peice of cake, the passenger side took me forever, dont bother trying to make tools etc. just burn them out with a propane torch, but be careful, the gas tank is right there, unless you drop the whole thing, then its easy
More than likely going to just drop it. Makes things a lot easier.

Yea, you need to hook us up with some test and tune time out there.
Get on that. :devillook
hahaha, where can i pick up a bag of those?
At your local Slideways Pitstop Conveniant Store.
BimmerBoyZ3 08-14-2006, 08:34 AM you guys are nuts.
What about a meet-up next week for some lunch ? (Columbia/Downtown, Vista, 5-Points, Irmo... wherever..)
Just let us know what day is best for you and me and PJ will be in.
Except this Friday. Ive got to get on the road ASAP on Friday.
Graham325 08-14-2006, 06:54 PM More than likely going to just drop it. Makes things a lot easier.
yall should pick up a can of por15 and make it look all pretty before you reinstall it then
What brand of bushings are you using?
Graham325 08-14-2006, 06:57 PM oh, and dont let the halfshafts hang when you remove the diff
8ball 08-14-2006, 07:49 PM I've got powerflex and IE's. I get to choose and whoever helps me do it gets the other set! I have trailing arm bushings as well and a new swaybar with IE rear mounts and bushings that all will go in at the same time so yeah it will be easier to drop everything to get it done. Oh I also have a diff. bushing that has to go on also. The whole suspension needs to come out and be reassembled.
PirateJake 08-14-2006, 08:07 PM ... hate to hear it man...
i just helped my buddy drop is tranny and replace the clutch... i don't think we did too bad for two young guys with only a vague plan (he's more experienced than me so i just was a third hand and learned everything i could)
god i love working on cars
Graham325 08-14-2006, 08:25 PM I've got powerflex and IE's. I get to choose and whoever helps me do it gets the other set! I hope you have a BFH, , its not a bad job, especially with 2 sets of hands
8ball 08-15-2006, 02:39 AM You're welcome to come and help Graham since you're experienced :D
Graham325 08-15-2006, 04:37 AM haha, when are yall planning on doing it?
8ball 08-15-2006, 07:39 AM PJ mentioned something about after this AutoX. The next one is Spetember 9th but then the following is Eurofest on Oct 22nd. My rims and tires won't be ready for this race and depending on funds maybe not for the next one either. I'm already pretty sure I won't see benefit from my parts until next year but it would be nice to step up my game for Eurofest.
8ball 08-15-2006, 09:02 AM OMG I hate this fucking state, what is up with this place where no matter where you go or what time you go, you have to wait 2 fucking hours to get tires mounted? I've been trying to get these damn things mounted since last week. Does anybody know of a place I can walk into and get served in a decent time frame? I can't believe how many tire and brake places there are up here and they're all always packed.
PJ325i 08-15-2006, 09:13 AM I usually just drop em off and go back later :)
That's Nutall or Checkerflag on Broad River . . .
8ball 08-15-2006, 10:01 AM I have trust issues, are you sure those places won't scratch my wheels or stack them face down? SO far eveybody but Firestone has been scared to touch them because they're black. Everybody says they need a special machine to do them without scratching.
BimmerBoyZ3 08-15-2006, 10:43 AM I have trust issues, are you sure those places won't scratch my wheels or stack them face down? SO far eveybody but Firestone has been scared to touch them because they're black. Everybody says they need a special machine to do them without scratching.
Go in, take pictures of the wheels AT the store, with the store logo in the backdrop. Have the company sign a paper saying they will repair any damage done to the wheels from mounting/balancing. Drop them, have them mounted and pick them up.
Besides...arent these track wheels?
Graham325 08-15-2006, 11:37 AM what kind of wheels are these that you are so worried about?
BimmerBoyZ3 08-15-2006, 01:25 PM what kind of wheels are these that you are so worried about?
Rota...custom made for e30 fitment.
Graham325 08-15-2006, 07:21 PM oh, from the group buy on r3v? those were pretty sweet.
8ball 08-15-2006, 07:23 PM Their going to be my everyday wheels, they're not just track wheels. I just don't want them scratched. Everywhere I've been so far so they won't warranty against scratches. Does Nutall? They're black Rota Slipstreams that I got from a groupbuy specifically to fit E30's. They took about 6 months to get and I really just want them on for atleast one race this year.
8ball 08-15-2006, 07:24 PM Yeah I helped start the group buy, we've been waiting forever. Now I can't find anyone that is confident they can mount them without scratching.
PirateJake 08-15-2006, 10:47 PM wow... just googled your wheels (i had no idea what they looked like)
those will look great on the e30... i hope you find somebody to mount them for you
BimmerBoyZ3 08-16-2006, 10:33 AM wow... just googled your wheels (i had no idea what they looked like)

BimmerBoyZ3 08-16-2006, 12:46 PM When is the next columbia meet?
Right now we are looking at a weekend in Sept. This gives teh USC/College guys time to get in and situated with school.
8ball 08-16-2006, 05:32 PM 16x8 et20
8ball 08-17-2006, 08:42 PM Well I finally got the rims mounted and while they lok good sitting still, I definately have to roll fenders. I chewed up the sidewall on the left rear just driving down the street and making a U-turn.
PJ, does your code reader reset the Maintanence dash light? I'm sure at 260+ thousand miles I don't need a level II service.
m3BMW95 08-17-2006, 08:46 PM I didn't really feel like reading all the pages, but who all is going to USC this semester? I go there, and am in Columbia now. We definitely all need to meet up!

if you are talking about the e30, you can jump 2 pins in the diagnostic connection in the engine bay, I do pins #7 and 19, but yours would be different since it is a later model, search r3v, thats where I found it

Awesome man! My house is about a 5 minute walk from bates. I stayed in Douglas (The towers) last year, but they are getting torn down this year. We definitely need to do some drives, and partying! There were a few guys that were trying to get a car club going last year, and I think they are going to do it this year too. Some pretty nice cars. Let me know when you get here and we can hang out.
Graham325 08-17-2006, 11:12 PM I stayed on the 5th floor douglas when I went there, we used to get up to some crazy stuff

Did I drive by you today around 7:30-8pm? I was in the silver Z3 with the red hardtop, music blaring?
PirateJake 08-22-2006, 03:32 AM i went from bates house to sonic on assembly at about that time... i'm the only black 325is with clears all around that i've seen in columbia... but i've only been here since saturday... bates house kicks ass man... my RA is totally laid back... party party party... until class starts... and WOMEN WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO

...i'm gona like it down here!
8ball 08-22-2006, 09:26 AM Hmm haven't seen a supercharged S2000 at an event yet but maybe he runs with NASA or a different club.
PirateJake 08-22-2006, 11:09 AM that's probably it... i didn't ask him which one he did
PJ325i 08-22-2006, 11:29 AM Figured you would like Bates House . . . :)
Even though it is at the back on the Campus . . . being Co-ed makes up for it. And don't forget, Bates West is Co-Ed too :eyebrows
PirateJake 08-22-2006, 11:33 AM yeah, bates is the best... it's cool because i'm in this new thing they call the "engineering community"
my RA and 90% of the guys on my hall are engineering majors... i signed up for it because i thought it'd help with studying and all that jazz, we'll see if it pays off
... and yes, the bates house is amazing... i partied at my friend's place in west quad last night and was coming home to get some sleep but there was a party going on two doors down so i stayed up another hour or two... this whole being in college with no classes is really working out for me

PJ325i 08-22-2006, 08:11 PM Wanna M3, eh?
cpcalkins 08-22-2006, 10:12 PM Interested in a trade for a 540i6?
not really unless cash is involved... what are the details on the 540??? any pics???
8ball 08-22-2006, 11:22 PM Some cash could be involved. 99 540i6, 86k miles, average condition (not as clean as yours) I can't remember the exact name of the color right now, I need to look it up. It's sand colored silver, black leather with no cracks. Staggered 17's, sport package with all the M emblems. All stock.
PJ, not really just any M but his is an amazing specimen of a 4 door M. Normally I don't like E36's but his is beautiful and tastefull.
PJ325i 08-22-2006, 11:26 PM I concur :)
cpcalkins 08-23-2006, 09:12 AM Lets meet up to take a look at it...

8ball 08-25-2006, 07:21 AM OK Dustin, you need the confidence builder anyway so I'll let you attempt to dominate this get together, although I don't belive PJ will let you. I promise to return to my winning ways next time.

BimmerBoyZ3 08-25-2006, 08:06 AM oh man, now that gran turismo is involved i will make an appearance for sure
We always have a 'friendly' competition on GT4.
By 'friendly' I mean full of shit talking, dirty tricks, and full contact racing. :devillook
8ball 08-25-2006, 09:32 AM Yeah by all means T-bone your opponet when he spins out.
BimmerBoyZ3 08-25-2006, 09:33 AM Yeah by all means T-bone your opponet when he spins out.
:rofl
"Hit him. HIT HIM!"
I think Imma bring out the Chevelle again. :stickoutt
8ball 08-25-2006, 10:46 AM Hey PJ, did you have a front brake sensor on this thing or did you twist it together? The pads have plenty wear left on them but this sensor is shot. I can't believe those brakes would fade so early.
8ball 08-25-2006, 10:49 AM Ahh actually I think I found my explanation. According to troubleshooting in teh Service Manual the last thing is check for vacuum leaks. I wonder if that coupling I showed you at the race is loose enough to drop my vacuum.
8ball 08-25-2006, 11:00 AM actually tracing the line now guess what that coupling goes to? the brake booster check valve. That must be the problem. Now I gotta figure out where to get one.
PJ325i 08-25-2006, 11:30 AM That might be it Mike!! Did you try to the teflon tape? I think I have some at the house. . . .we try that and see if it fixes it.
I had a sensor on when I did the brakes and it wore off somehow, rather than purchase a new one. . . I tied it together and check the brakes every time I did an Oil Change.
Oh . . . andI have 'special' truck just for WHOMEVER sit behind the wheel in GT4 :)
I wonder how the two player is in Enthusia?
BimmerBoyZ3 08-25-2006, 01:30 PM I wonder how the two player is in Enthusia?
Two players constantly spinning out and turning a 2 lap race into a 2 hour endurance.
:shifty
8ball 08-25-2006, 02:16 PM We played it at the first party I came to. After about 30 minutes I could control the cars halfway decent and we played 2 players but none of the races were close.
PJ325i 08-25-2006, 03:16 PM I don't spin anymore :D
Drifting in that game that is easy.
Forza is easy to drift too . . . I need to find a steering wheel for it :)
8ball 08-25-2006, 03:46 PM Well I put teh car back together and the damn thing breaks the same all over again, locks up the wheels in a heartbeat. I haven't bled it yet because I didn't have a 7mm but I'm starting to think that it needs it since all I did was push the calipers back and reinstall the same pads and now it's good again. I must have some air somewhere that was probably trapped in the pump and since I rarely ever get into the ABS I haven't seen before. Now that I have a 7mm I'll try my bleeder out and hope to see some bubbles.
BimmerBoyZ3 08-25-2006, 06:43 PM I don't spin anymore :D

...when one of the wheels works correctly. :shifty

It is very unfair, I have to tone down my skills so much to play with you it's ridiculous. But we gotta make everyone feel like they can achieve atleast one win in a night. I think you made your quota last time didn't you?
PirateJake 08-26-2006, 06:26 PM if all else fails... i'll just try to ram the shit out of your car and spin it around

BimmerBoyZ3 08-28-2006, 11:12 AM Don't worry. . . .that had been solved :)

How much are you looking to get, and what was the final verdict on the motor?
RedRum77 09-11-2006, 11:38 AM The verdict on the motor - bent valves said Olin in Imports Only.
I'm asking 7,000. Remember, this car is coming with some goodies. UUC Light flywheel, Underdrive pulleys, 24lbs injectors, Borla exhaust, cosmo intake, Conforti chip. Now the engine was OBDI.
Graham325 09-11-2006, 01:23 PM any damage to the bottom end, or just the head?

He told me basicly the oilpump went out. He fixed the faulty oil light:buttrock and when he detached the oilpan he found metal shavings. I asked him what does it need, he said a new engine. I was gonna fixed it but when the Army said "go to Korea" i was said hold off on the engine swap.
