The car is a '99 with 100k miles. Overall it's in pretty good shape. Some rock chips and some minor scratches and swirling. The claying didn't pick up too much stuff...I was impressed.

Process:

Simple Green wheels/tires/wells
NXT wash
Zaino Z18 Clay
AIO via PC and polishing pad
DP Max Wax
QuikShine QD (including glass)
Armor All on tires and trim

Total time: 2 hours 45 minutes

This is a weekly wash, so I'll be able to monitor the wax pretty well.

Thanks guys!

They are 18" Fittipaldi rims, but I'm not sure on the specific name.

How in the world did you get all that done in 2hours and 45minutes?

Just applying 1 coat of wax and buffing it off alone must take me about 3 hours.
That's with a porter cable random orbital buffer!
Then again, removing the wax is what takes forever for me.

My thoughts exactly..you must have been hauling or have this down to an art. :confused

Thats kinda sad. It shouldnt take more than 30 minutes or so to apply and buff an LSP. ;)

Thanks for the compliments.

The car isn't mine, so I didn't have anything to do with the styling choices.

As for the time factor (I started just after 8 am and took the last pictures about 10:45 am):

Wheels/tires/wells ~ 15 minutes
Wash ~ 15 minutes
Pull inside and claybar ~ 20-30 minutes
Rinse car off and dry completely ~ 30 minutes
AIO with PC ~ 30 minutes
DP Max Wax and Quik Shine QD ~ 30 minutes
Dress tires/trim and final inspection ~ 15 minutes

I can do this same process to a full size, extended cab Chevy in 4 hours. You get faster with practice and a good routine, although I was a little surprised to finish this one up so quickly.

Very nice, except i think the thread is relatively 56k safe. Small pics.

I think peopel are just use to putting 56k warnings :rofl

Yeah, the pics are pretty small, but I didn't want anyone getting surprised with 8 pictures :)

Just wanted to update this post with my durability findings...wax was completely dead after 7 weeks. Water was pooling, slickness was gone, etc.

That's about right for carnuba parked in the garage.

Not when the customer wants carnauba ;)

This car is not garaged, but is kept under covered parking at night. This was also through the hottest part of summer (June - August) in Texas.

In that case, I'll bet that the wax was dead after 4 or 5 weeks. Of course, my defination of dead and yours may not match :D , but basically for my purposes, if it doesn't allow bugs to come off easily w/o scrubbing, then the wax as a protectant's dead. Whether it beads water or not is irrelevant as we're not trying to protect our cars from water. :)

When I monitor durability, I look at water beading (indicating increased surface tension), slickness, gloss/appearance, and ease of cleaning.

It was *completely* dead after 7 weeks.

I always put sealant like WG under the carnauba, its no secret carnauba's dont last forever. But the shine on that car is worth it. I have used the DP wax and love it, I wax once a month with it and about every 3 to 4 with WG. Sometimes I change it up and use Sig. Series.
Curious did you polish those wheels? if so with what they look sweet. :redspot

Word on the street is that Max Wax is the same as Signature Series.

The wheels are actually painted bright silver (mostly).
