I searched the forum and while I love Rain-x the idea of a much longer lasting product is appealing. I see the BMW kit with the white paste to clean the windshield but given the cost of the kit at the stealer I woinder if anybody knows if the cleaner paste is just windshield cleaner abrasive or if it relly is useful. I see ebay sellers with 6 or 12 applicators that go for the same cost as one kit from BMW.

Cleaning the window before application is very important. That said, I wouldn't waste my money on the kit, I'd buy off Ebay. Naptha (lighter fluid) followed by a 50/50 IPA mix should prep the window fine. Just make sure you don't have any drip on your paint or you'll be rewaxing (your paint is waxed right ;) ). How much are you looking to buy? I've been looking to split an order with someone. The more you buy, the cheaper it is.

I'd like at least 6 applicators, (WAY too many cars!) but 12 might be a better deal...seems like I saw a case of 24 was pretty cheap.

It doesn't look like you get much of a deal between 6 or 12 applications. No sense in trying to split an order.

probably 6-12 apps. Ebay has them for about $3.75 each. If you can do better PM me.

Plus I am going to call a friend of mine who runs an autobody/glass shop..he does a huge amount of business with PPG (who I think market Aquapel)...maybe he can get a case to us at wholesale.

I work in distribution for an auto glass store chain and talk to people from PPG everyday. Today our PPG rep comp'd me some aquapel to try it out.

give us the details after you use it.
My friend with the body shop said his PPG reps don't handle it but he directed me to my local Carquest who had it on hand.

I've created a mini webpage with all the information about aquapel. It really is a good product... i'm going to edit and fine tune the page tomorow, then I will post it - for now i am going to sleep
