Ok so I'm waiting on pezking to get the gallon kit of leatherique in but I have some other questions on the leather in my car.

First on the subject of leatherique does most everyone use thier standard black on BMW black leather?

Second where the leather gets stretched in the middle of the seat is there anything to tighten that back up?

Third as the guy mentioned in the other thread my steering wheel is very worn...certian area aren't really black anymore and others seem to have a suede like texture to them now. When I condition it gets sticky and any fibers on the towel get stuck in it. What can I do here short of getting it recovered? Crack filler and dye perhaps?

I can't help with the first question. But it seems if you're refinishing all of the seats it wouldn't really matter.

There was a thread posted where a person refinished his seats. They were still stretched, but looked a lot better. A very nice result.

About the steering wheel. I had the same sort of problem with my steering wheel on a 944. I used some sort of leather conditioner that turned the worn leather into a gooey mess. I finally got it back into reasonable shape by soaking it in leatherique for a couple of days, then putting a lot of layers of shoe polish and buffed the hell out of it. I have no idea how this will last, not good I suspect. If I were refinishing the seats, I'd refinish the steering wheel, too. Not much to lose there.

Good Luck.

Well I only need to redye the outer bolsters on the front seats, everything else is perfect colorwise. I'm only RO and PCing all of the seats. THe show polish idea sounds like it may not last over time and my car sits outside most days while I'm at work. I was just a little worried about getting it recovered because I wanted to retain the factory M colored stitching.

A good shop can re-cover the steering wheel and stitch it with the tricolor threads.

I called about this - costs about the same as a new steering wheel.....
