Guys and girls,

Is there any interest in the ranks of doing a 2005 Dent Fest and Dyno Day? If so, Chris and I need to know so we can start planning for either July or September. Due to space constraints, the event would be held at two seperate locations, approx 10 minutes apart. It lokks like Dyno runs would again be at Auto Exotica (nee, Passen Motorsports) and the cook out and PDR would be held at the new Dent Solutions retail store near Easton.

If this is something that people are interested in, please let Chris (Bimmer95) or me know. We need to start building a plan and talking to our past event sponsors.

Sounds good! I am up for a cookout.

Probably will not have any new mods or a need for a dyno though. :(

The next big German car event I know of in Columbus is Das Vroom on 7/30.

Kids, so far we have interest from 4(????) people. We're not going to be able to put something together for such a small group. We either need to shit or get off the pot.

If there is interest in doing this event again, Chris and I NEED to know. Otherwise we need to put it to bed.

We'll get a lot more than four Brian. If you plan it for September, I can get a listing in the local BMWCCA newsletter again. I think we all remember the huge turnout for DF&DD '03 :)

Monkey boy, call me this weekend. I'll be home for most of the week and we can look at September schedules.

We need a good number of confirmed participants to make it work this year. I'll get stuff from BFS and Red Bull again at the Dent Solutions location. But, it will only work if we know we'll have high turn out.

Otherwise, I'm not wasting my time.

bimmer95
06-10-2005, 11:38 AM
If we can nail down a date two months out, I can pretty much guarantee a good turn out. Last year we had about 2-3 weeks notice, but I was a bit surprised at how many folks ended up there anyway. I'm free any weekend, so figure out your schedule and I'll spread the word :)

I am sure many people will come. There doesn't seem to be much activity by Ohio people here recently. :az

I will be there. I will be there with food, a grill, and closed containers for the masses. What you put in them is your own business.

However, I'm coming from Grand Rapids- a street address for these places would be great. I grew up in Detroit (8 mile and woodward baby!) so I'm pretty familiar, I just haven't lived there in ten years.

i would say yes.. but seeing as its the texas game.. i would HAVE to pass.. ill probably be at the game... eventhough i didn't go to OSU i grew up with the scarlet and grey blood.. is definitly going to be the day? we could post a thread on M3forum also (for those that don't come here.. if any) regarding the meet..

on a sidenote.. if i were able to come.. would we be able to run a small test.. say 2 runs with the sharkinjector and 2 without? figure its a 10-15 minute swap.. don't know if they would allow that or not.. but i figured it would help for those wondreing if it works with the M50 manifold or not.. also would prove that it works.

I grew up in northern Florida not far from "the swamp" or the Florida gators if people don't know what the swamp is. They are seriously nuts there. I know very well whats its like to around it alot.

Ok 11 games and a bowl, thats makes 12 per year..... how many dyno meets will we have..... maybe 1 if we can pull people from the one of the 12 games?

The ony way I would consider missnig for a football game is if it was Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs, that rivalry is huge and has been going for over 100 years. Its been named (and this isn't a joke) "The Wold's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party", where the tailgaiting starts 2 WEEKS in advance with parking lots full of RV's.

A bunch of guys meet and shoot the breeze all day. Lots of guys put their on the dyno, partly for show, partly to see what it will do. There is a dent removal company that comes out and does professional dent removal. People grill out or all go out to eat together. Its a great way to waste a day.

As far as what the dent doctor charges...?????

Definately interested in the dent side: 3 door dings. Damn you people!

So should I get a hotel room or will someone put up with me? I'll bring down snacks, maybe pralines.

9/10 is blown and our dent guy may opt out completely this year. The past two years there was almost no interest in getting dents repaired and the few that did thought they'd get 90% discounts. Ah well. Now shooting for a October date with a dyno shop and will likely have 20% discount coupons for Dent Solutions, who's nearby and open 10a-2p on Saturdays. That way, if anyone wants dents fixed, they can run over and get them knocked out.

Ok seriously guys, I've had to miss D&D Day 2 years in a row already, and I'm normally off at school this time of the year (up in Rochester NY) ... Is there any good reason to have it this late in the year? Why not during any normal summer months? Since its looking like it will be cancelled or postponed this year (I won't make it anyway this year because my car is "under construction"), I don't think I'll ever make it to one until I after I graduate, as I'll miss next year's too if it is in September.

Because the Brian Leib, who's helped put this together every year, and I am too freaking busy all the time to coordinate the event. I've been working nonstop since winter and Brian's schedule is completely hectic. However Bridgestone has sent him a box of stuff to pass out finally, so we're going to throw something together very soon.

Ah I see .. I understand that peoples' schedules can be pretty hectic and can appreciate the amount of effort that goes into planning events like this, but can we plan in advance for this to happen sometime earlier in the summer next year? I didn't mean to come off as a jackass, if that's how it sounded, its just a suggestion from somone who's been dying to attend one of these for 3 years now. I would even be happy to help in whatever way I could with putting one of these together if we could all find an agreeable weekend in the summer next year :)

So, I'm assuming this year's event isn't going to happen this weekend, as originally rumored .. if not I may have my car done if its any weekend after this one :devillook Headgasket goes in this weekend :D - after that I just need to find an exhaust shop to weld my downpipe for me and fabricate me a downpipe for the wastegate, mount the gauges and do the oil lines while that's being done - then bolt it all up and pray! :lol

Last year was fun! Maybe we could do a drive to the same area again.

Sounds like you should do a DE at Mid-Ohio. The next one is on the last weekend in October. At the very least you should go and get a ride with an instructor.

I have some Subi friends organizing a rally on October 23rd. It will be more than a drive, it will involve trivia questions and taking photos of your car at particular locations (not disclosed until the day of the event). Sounds like fun! Contact me if you are interested in joining.
