View Full Version : My new ZCP...
rommelrules 06-02-2005, 12:33 PM Well, finally picked her up in Munich.
Drove her around Europe for three weeks and now hopefully
she's on a boat making her way here. The wait is killing me.
Here are some preliminary pics...

Who wouldn't want to drive their M3 on the Monaco track?
I have several laps on video.

Jiberwacker 06-02-2005, 02:16 PM Mystic on cinnamon, right?
Car looks great! Did you actually save $$ doing the European delivery?
Tom2.0 06-02-2005, 08:39 PM vids or ban!!!
European delivery is so much fun, my dad has done a 528 sport, and X3 3.0 on it. Very bad ass
12:03 06-02-2005, 09:13 PM no xenons
:eyecrazy
Stuttgart951 06-02-2005, 09:50 PM Holy crap is that nice... and Monaco too?
You > Me.
rommelrules 06-03-2005, 10:09 AM Thanks, folks. Car is Interlagos Blue. I will document it properly once it gets back. I'm amazed at this car.
I knew it was going to be good. But it's simply amazing.
As for Monaco, it sounds a little more glamorous than what it really is.
There was bumper to bumper traffic for the most part. On the second lap,
much like a miracle, the traffic cleared. I slowed down to a crawl, left some good space ahead of me and just gunned it into the tunnel.
I hit 80 then had to brake. :D Unbelievable.
But hitting 160 MPH on the freeways, that's another story.
The damn thing still pulls at 160 like my E36 M3 pulls at 90.
RINGTAXI 06-03-2005, 11:16 AM No Xenons. I didn't know they had that option. Car looks awesome. On top of that you got to drive it on the track. Good choice.
Max///M3 06-03-2005, 01:35 PM
Congrats :alright
jake1sir 06-04-2005, 11:03 AM I wish I knew what 160 was like, must get software!!!
What about your break in period? You took it up to 160 when you first got the car?

What savings did you have buying the car in Munich and shipping it to the U.S. as opposed to buying it here? Outside of the waiting time of course.

Well, you don't need software, just a designer tie really... ;)
I followed the break-in procedure to the T.
I only did high speed runs on my second week
(I had well over 1200K miles on it plus fresh oil).
Put 3500 in total in just 3 weeks...
This got me thinking though. I forgot all about the limiter.
Why didn't it kick in at those speeds? Maybe bacause of the speedometer error?

No savings when it comes to M models unfortunately
(although they are substantial plus whatever you can negoiate
in other models...) And 7 to 8 weeks for redelivery. That's the downside.
Everything else though makes it well worth it...
sonicpentatonic 06-05-2005, 01:27 AM omg, that is absolutely gorgeous...:uberdrool

The HACK 06-07-2005, 08:43 PM I forgot all about the limiter.

Top speed in 5th gear is 168mph. Speed not limited in 5th.
rommelrules 06-08-2005, 01:11 AM Thanks again for all the compliments, guys. Going crazy waiting for the car.
Seven more weeks to go until the car makes it back here.
Not even my E36 M3 is making it better or easier... :(
TBM3C- Good choice. You will love the combo... ;)
Top speed in 5th gear is 168mph. Speed not limited in 5th.
Ah, that explains it then. Didn't really use 6th gear for the most part.
I'm still not comfortable with it when it comes to downshifting...
