First off thanks to all those on this board that helped me identify my problem with my AFR's on my car (sometimes you don't want to believe). I am putting together all the parts I need and I just need a few clarifications and a little help before I purchase everything.

1. Do I want an obd I HFM off a 540i?
2. Does anybody know the BMW part for the OBDI plug that goes into the HFM.
3. I need to source a 3.5 to 3.5 silicone sleeve from my thermoplastic intake to the HFM
4. The flexible elbow between the 3.5 HFM and the small piece of tubing going into the small pipe leading to the air filter.
5. The small pipe between the flex piece and the air filter.

I am going to do the whole job at once with the cams and the intake and get it programmed and be done. Thanks again for all the help on this board and Marco.

Jim here is where you can buy silcone hoses transistion and straight. price seems reasonable.

Just call Bme and ask them for the part number if someone does not chime in with the part number.

Jim, glad you saw the light... I can identify with you.. Remember how long it took me to 'see the light'? Alot of arm twisting later, the cars better than its ever been.. You wont be sorry :)

As for the hfm, either a euro, or a 540 will be fine. When I bought mine, it came with the proper harness, to make it plug and play.

I think mark gave you a good hose source. Finally, dont forget to change your filter out. You DONT want to 'settle' for your current one with the 3" mount flange, for then, That will become the restriction. Move up to one of the 3.5" mount flange K&Ns, like the rc-4630 Im using on mine...

Yes I have seen the light. I realize it is better to not take chances with tuning especially on the track. Karl told me the plug for the hfm is just an obd I plug that you connect the wires from the old harness into less the grey one for the obd II. Karl is letting me source my own parts for the install so I am putting together a list as hopefully others will want this as well when I get done with it.

I already ordered the air filter :) Thanks...

It is going to be a tight fit in there with my oil cooler lines going in by the filter.

Jim, enclosed, see the pic of my euro hfm, and its harness. Note, the harness sits between the new Euro hfm, and the old OBDII harness. One end has the proper plug to screw onto the euro hfm; the other end has the proper plug to screw into your obdii hfm connector.

That must be something that RMS makes. Karl told me you can take the wires out of the old harness and just put them into a connector for the OBD I HFM like they use in the Euro HFM.
