I noticed that I am starting to get some rust right around my windsheild washer tank in the engine bay. Looks to be in its early stages and was wondering if there is anything I can do myself. At this point im not concerned about paint. Looks like I could grind it away with a Dremel and spray it with something.
Any suggestions?

Hey Kevin, good question. To give an everyday example of what im going to explain, ever notice those lumps along the steal beams of bridges? Those are called sacrificial anodes... since there is no possible way to keep all the elements from coming in contact with the steal, they instead attach those "lumps" wich are the sacrificial anodes. They are simply any metal that will corrode faster that the metal it is attached to. So instead of the bridge corroding away... those metal lumps will "sacrifice" themselves first and end up corroding instead of the steal on the bridge.
This is what you should do to your car to prevent any further rusting away. A common metal used is zinc. So go to ure local hardware store, pick sum up and tack it onto the metal that is rusting away. If you pay close attention, after a while you will see the zinc disappear!
Hope that answers your question ... haha

oooooR... You could just grind it off with a dremel, coat it with rust converter, and then primer and repaint it with a rattle-can.
