Has anyone had to do one and what does it consist of?
I went last week to renew the reginstration of my car because they never sent me one by the mail. The dmv lady told me they put a lock on my registration and has to be inspected. I asked why and she said because my car got impounded in the past (last summer I got nailed for a speed contest :mad ). She wouldn't tell me what exactly they were going to inspect. She was going to inspect it right there and then and told me to drive the car around the side of the building. Realizing I still have my trackpipe :devillook installed on the car I told her I had to be somewhere and would comeback another day.
Here's the thing Im worried about, are they going to inspect my engine for modifications or something because I doubt the dmv lady would now what is stock. Are they just going to run the vin #s and I shouldnt even worry about taking off the trackpipe? Thanks in advance.

You shouldn't worry much. During a DMW inspection, they just check to make sure you're car not too lower (if it is), exhaust, etc... Mostly visual.
When you recieved your speed contest, did you they dock you for any other moving voilation?

Oh shit wsup bro...
Yeah they just do it like if you car is being ref'd for illegal shit... For the intake I would put the Carb sticker or the stock airbox in just to be safe.

AngelEye328i,
No I did not recieve any other moving violation. I actually went to court and got it reduced to a speeding ticket. But I was still assed out on $1300 for the 30 day impound.
LWRNCE,
What is it?! I was planning on using the ECIS carb EO# D-575. I got a hold of their EO form and it describes the intake pretty similar to the JC CAI. Think it will work? I just plan on putting the cats back on and taking it.

.
 You got luck that the judge drop the speed contest or it would have cost you more $$$$ plus the 30 day required impound.
Just of curosity, how fast were you going and with whom did you run with?
Was it worth it?
