Ok, this isn't the famous power window issue that E36's are plagued by, just to clarify. My window when fully down only rolls up halfway and then just stops, it won't go up anymore, but will go right back down. The motor seems to be working fine, it can't be the switch or the fuse, I have no idea what could be wrong, can anyone share some insight? Oh it's the driverside window on a 94 318is.

I would remove the door trim panel to verify that the regulator and guides are in good condition. If they are, most likely the motor is faulty.

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to the mechanics of BMW's, i have my '95 318is about a month now. i've had a similar problem with the driver window, the motor was fine, the glass kept running outside the rubber seal causing it to stop, half way, it was only when i held the window from the inside that it completely closed.

i took the door panel off and tried to re-align it, seems to have sorted it out, only catching a little at the very top now.
