If I remember correctly, the last E36 M3 (1999 model) was available until the end of 1999 (Sep to Oct time frame), with the E46 M3 debuting in early 2001 (I could be wrong here about the debut of the E46 M3, so please correct me if I am).

From what I am hearing, the E90 M3 won't be available until 2007. So does anybody have an idea of when the E46 will be out of production (i.e. no longer able to order one)?

The E46 M3 was supposed to become available in 2000, but due to production difficulties, it was delayed.

I'm betting you will still be able to buy a E46 M3 up until end of next year before the new model starts to change things up a bit.

FWIW the current M should be in production through mid 2006 according to the latest info. It appears that with the increase in competition (ie S line form Audi and the growing AMG forces at MB) BMW is less likely to leave it's customers to wait too long for the new model for fear of losing them. With the previous generation the options for drivers were not as abundant.

BMW of NA confirmed that there will be a MY06 BMW. Orders can start in September. No input on when the end date will be but I suspect in the spring of CY06.
