View Full Version : What do you think about Advan's for street tires?

I'm about to need new tires. Right now I have PS2's, but I was thinking about getting Yokohama Advan's. I know its more of a competition tire, but I'm not worried about tire wear just wet traction. So how is it? How does it fair as a street tire? I hear that road noise is really bad...?

If one were to decide to run an R-comp on the street, I suppose the a032r would be it. (or possible RA-1) The Advans will last longer than just about any other race tire, and have enough tread to not be seriously dangerous in the wet.
Still, I can't imagine them lasting longer than a few thousand street miles...

Ask yourself if you really drive hard enough on the street to warrant running r-comps all the time.

i wouldnt, if you wanted to run a DD tire at or near rcomp grip, consider falken rt615, Neova, hankook rs2(i think that's the one). There are near rcomp grip tires that are more suitable for the street and you should consider those.

So nobody actually knows how they are in the wet? And yes,I know that the wear rating is low, but (trying not to boast) I can afford buying more tires. I think the "stickyness" of the advan would be good and I don't drive very hard in the rain. I just need something acceptable in the rain.
