Yes. These are not R compound tires. They are the replacement for the "old" T1-S which are going out of production.

oh i see, I hadn't heard of production stopping on the T1-S, I've had two sets before and they're great tires, probably one of the best sets I've had (in dry and wet conditions)

Yep, from what I hear, the T1-R will be just as good or better.

Tire companies need to go ahead and stop discontinuing tires I own and enjoy and replacing them with much higher priced replacements.

The new model is supposed to be priced right around the price of the T1-S.
