We Miata guys love them. Very lightweight. I'm not sure how they hold up in larger BMW applications, but I've had no problems with mine thus far on the Spec Miata.

good to hear, are there any other vendors who sell them? bimmerworld is back ordered for the black ones :(

I'm sure there are, but I ordered mine through Bimmerworld.

Most of the other vendors I could track down are very Miata specific and probably don't carry BMW fitmets anyway.

If I'm not mistaken, they only come 8" wide. Too narrow if you'll be running 255s.

They're a good track wheel, IMO. I'm running a set of 17x8.5 on the E36 race car.

How light is light?

I see some wheels on tirerack that claim to be 16.8 lbs. Others claim to be lightweight and are 25 lbs.

lighter is better - to a point. I want them strong enough to support the heft of my 97 540i in an auto-x application.

Any input from more experienced racers welcome!

I don't have them but I know you can run Stoptechs (332mm, I think) without a spacer.

Mine clear my 332mm Brembo's no problem w/a 15mm spacer. I could probably get away w/o any spacer or a 5mm.

I went 4 the K1's on my e 30 and luv em......I think those Racing Dynamics may look a bit goofy on an e 46....IMO of course :D

To me, the best performance gain is going to come from getting light weight wheels. At the tire store today, I heard that some camaro owners are using BMW wheels and the bolt patterns are .3mm different.

Has anyone here heard of this?

If so, maybe a cheap set of lightweight track wheels would be from a '93-'02 camaro? Would this work for an e39?

True, camaro & jag wheels have the same bolt pattern. But they dont have any lightweight wheels I could find. Ergo why those guys look for bmw wheels, as we have more selection than them.

I believe C4? vettes have the same bolt pattern & good selection of race wheels, but their offsets are way off of what E36' need.

Yep, they clear my 4-pot AP Racing calipers easily with no spacers.

The GM 5 on 4.75 inch bolt pattern hub that Camaro (and S-10s and others) have, use a smaller hub center than BMWs do. I can put my E36 wheels on my S-10 but not the truck wheels on the bimmer.
