matt- i figure this is the best way to get hold of you for the moment, what with the shop transition and your internet problem.

i'm having problems with my depo's we installed the day before i moved to LA.

they're as low as the knob/screw allows them to be leveled (and steve looked at them at bimmerfest); but i'm still getting complaints at every meet whenever anyone has to follow me!

what am i doing wrong? or is there something else i can do to adjust something else that will point them a little bit lower? right now they're shooting up right to the rear view mirror height of cars when following at a normal distance.

TIA

oh, and anyone else's imput would be appreciated too (on how to look at/address/fix the problem, NOT bitch about anyone's personal experiences with any vendor. i respect your personal experiences and any problems you might have had with any vendor, but this isn't the thread for it. thanks for your cooperation)

Hey JP well your lights have the two adusters one for vertical and the one for horizontal left of right.

There should also be I believe bolts above the headlight that attatch to the radiator support. Those if tightened or loosened should also adjust the vertical aiming.

Try to bring your lights to the original setting then adjust it with the radiator support bolts. Then to touch it up use the small adjusters in the back of the lights.

Hope that makes sense bro...

will that cause the assembly to be loose? i dont want it to be damaged from vibrations or anything crazy... like falling out!!

no.

There is a metal screw with a washer. That screw with the washer screws into the plastic bolt which holds everything to the radiator support.

You can tell that your lights are gonna fall out if that plastic Big bolt is untightened to the point where it is not held into place.

SHIT its hard to tell you I need a picture.

Take a picture of the headlight assembly... and then I can paint on it and show you what I am talking about.

Yeah there should be atleast 3 of them if not 4.

Yup, exactly as stated above. You will see 3 or 4 black plastic (pretty big in size) screws you can say that hold the housing into place which is connected to the metal brace thing. Unscrewing them tilts the whole light down while screwing them in more tiltss it up.
