I need some help from the fine people that post to this forum.

I bought my first ever BMW this week. 2000 540i 6-speed and I love it.

I really like some of the great modifications that many of you make. Obviously, the first upgrade on my list is headlights.

I want to add the angel eyes look (maybe euro clear). However, I don't know what I have now to figure out what I need.

I think I have Hella HID's, but don't know what kind.

If I want to install Euro Clear Angel Eyes, do I need brand new headlights, ballasts, wiring? Or can I just buy new headlights? Or is it as simple as opening the light and changing out the rings.

I looked at what I have and Hella is printed on the back of the light with a 154-187-00 part number.
The outerlights are HID (I think) while the high-beams are regular white light bulbs. So far I haven't seen these lights anywhere, hence asking my question here.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

It looks like you have Xenon lights. I have the same setup in my 2000 540I until I upgraded them to Angel Eye. You could use your existing ballast if you want to upgrade to Xenon Angel Eye. You'll also need 4 wiring harness for the AE halo and side signal which you can find on Ebay for cheap. The AE upgrade is very simple. Go to BMWtips (http://www.bmwtips.com/) and look under Tips & Tricks for instruction and other goodies. Good luck.
