View Full Version : Dyno Day?
autophile 05-19-2005, 12:24 PM I'm having lunch with a guy who could get us some reasonably-priced dyno time.
He's been green since I brought my 540 home, too, so he'd probably stick around and give people pointers based on the dyno sheets.
He builds race engines and has scads of wrenching experience at dealerships, has even been an instructor at OSU-Tech Okmulgee.
Let me know if people are interested. I know I'm curious to see what a 97 4.4L bone stock BMW will put out at the rear wheels with 95k on the clock!
BMWbeauty416 05-19-2005, 12:53 PM Teg's Dyno results - slow as shit
but I would go out with if people do go

HA! Teg, you have to test yours going downhill with a tail wind.... HAHA!
I think I would be very interested in seeing what my numbers are. A good base measurment before I slap on my electric superchager and high power decals.
autophile 05-19-2005, 02:50 PM The decals alone are worth 10HP, right? That's why I wanted to be sure you had some for the meet!
JedzE36/5 05-19-2005, 03:25 PM ide like a good baseline run.

SHIT YEA 10hp each??? then I got a 40hp gain!!!
wait i'm still slow :mad
~*Teg*~
autophile 05-19-2005, 04:33 PM Yeah, they're worth 10hp each.
And down in Florida, I have this prime piece of .... land (gotcha) for sale - CHEAP!
Patrick 05-19-2005, 09:37 PM I also know of a dyno in Hennesey that is extremly cheap. Its also the nicest Mustang dyno in Oklahoma. Mustang is supposedly more accurate then dynojet etc.
We are talking like $60 an hour for 3 hours.
autophile 05-25-2005, 11:19 AM bump
mrdezyne 05-26-2005, 12:56 PM My buddy with the 280Z is interested when we get some time. Any luck on scheduling a date yet?
autophile 05-26-2005, 03:37 PM So that makes:
Teg
280z
Jed
Curt
Me
Did I miss anyone?
That makes enough people to make it worth doing, so I'll let everyone know as soon as I can after the Memorial Day holiday.
mrdezyne 05-26-2005, 03:49 PM Jamie (Z3)

autophile 05-26-2005, 04:09 PM Looks like a good crowd!
:lol I wonder how much HP differences affect a relationship? (Teg/Anthony ... ) HP envy ... :nono
Maybe I should get a grant to study this phenomenon ...
hmmmmm
At least we'd get some free dyno time out of the deal!
BMWbeauty416 05-26-2005, 04:29 PM LOL - I just tell him that if his engine somehow ends up in my car I didn't do it :stickoutt

autophile 05-26-2005, 04:34 PM For the truly power hungry, only a V8 will do ;)
And I've even seen a thread in another forum here about a guy who is putting a V8 in a 3-series.
JedzE36/5 05-26-2005, 05:50 PM ill talk to kyle and see if he wants to dyno. i know he is wanting to get some new numbers on his car. how much are we talking?
autophile 05-26-2005, 05:58 PM Don't know how much yet. Gotta talk to the guy who owns the dyno. Should know sometime next week (after the holiday).
