Hello,
Was wondering if there is anyone out there that can help me with waterpump replacement on a 95 M3. Markel wants to charge me 500.00 to do it. The pump costs 85.00. If anyone is interested, I'd be glad to provide food and drinks.

Thanks,
Tony

I've never done one and frankly, I don't have much time to learn how. Sorry

:(

Try Papillion Foreign Motors, talk to Rick the owner and mention the car club. 339-6460

My schedule is pretty rough right now...but if you can get it to Lincoln I can probably help you out. It's a 1-1.5 hour job if it goes well.

WP replacement is very straightforward. Don't really even need the Bentley other than for the torque values, which brings up a sore point. Apparently it's pretty common for the WP bolts to be corroded and break off on either removal or installation. On the 325is I did we ended up having to remove the radiator and A/C condensor to give enough room to drill out the broken bolt and re-tap for a new one. That sucked.

As long as the bolts don't break it's easy. :) WP replacement is a good time to replace that plastic thermostat housing with an aftermarket metal one, though, so I'd suggest getting one from BMP ($30 IIRC) and maybe a new thermostat and gasket while you're at it.

Like I said, though, if you can get the car to Lincoln I can help you out. Tomorrow night, and Monday night next week are open at the moment.

tomorrow late I could be of some assistance, again, in lincoln...

otherwise, its easy as long as you don't break a bolt off... good luck man.

WOW! I did not think there would be so much response. Thanks guys. However, I went to a mechanic I usually take my cars to and he said he can do it for 125.00 if I supply the wp. That sounds good to me. Again I do appreciate the offers and hope to meet you guys sometime. By the way, I'll be the only BMW driver at the ITR Expo Memorial Day weekend at MAM so if anyone wants to spectate, feel free to go.

Thanks,
Tony
