Because Joe is busy, just as I am, I told him that I could wait so we could find a delivery time that suited us both. On March 26, I sent him another $300 dollars as he requested. I really needed this motor to be delivered very soon after that 2nd deposit. It is May 17th now, and I still do not have a motor. I have tired calling Joe for the past two weeks. His voice mailbox is full, and I am unable to leave him a message or anything. I just want to get in contact with him so he can deliver the motor. This is not a bashing thread but I just want to know when my motor is coming, and if he could get in touch with me. I really didn't expect that it would take over 2 months to get an engine. I do not find it acceptable that he does not have a working phone number or anyone that can help with the delivery of the motor. In addition, I do not think that it should take over 3 months to deliver a engine. I am so desperate that I am even willing to pick it up, but I am unable to!

Short answer - I spoke with Joe sometime around the begining of May and he said he would be unreachable until the first week in June. Didn't ask why.

I bought a car from Joe at the end of April, he was nice enought to get everything arranged and even pulled and shipped an extra steering column/sunroof to me for free :buttrock.

Everything wen't smoothly and I haven't heard anything negative about Joe. I wouldn't worry much and just wait another week or so on him.

I've had a horrible experience with him as well. I have been trying to contact him for the past 3 weeks with no answer. Some have said he is in Africa, however that does not give him any excuses to leave his customers in the dry. He is supposedly going to return in early June. Got back from South Africa a few months ago-there's an Internet Cafe at practically every street corner.

Huh, just randomly came into this part of the board, what OBC was it? He lives 40 min away from me and im helping parts cars while hes out of the country. Ill be sure to tell him he has some angry customers when he gets back, should be a week or so.

I talked to Funkmasta a while back and he sounds like a decent enough guy - that said it's inexcusable to take people's money and leave them high and dry. I bought a cupholder from him a long time ago - he didn't ship for 2 weeks so I asked for my money back and he kindly refunded it.

Hey there, I spoke with you before I left and let you know that I was going to be gone all of May. Despite the fact that the first deposit was given in Feb, I have tried on 3 seperate occaisions to meet up with you to drop off the motor. (for onlookers, it is a 6 hour round trip for me). The week before I left, I had made contact with you and was going to leave early on a Saturday morning to deliver the motor around 8:30 AM... But I never heard back from you, and you didnt return my calls.
Anyhow, I will be back on the 12th or so, and we can finish the transaction then.

Here is what I am going to do.
I am going to be heading up to the cities on Friday June 17th. Have an engine hoist ready, or 4 STRONG friends. If this falls through for any reason beyond my control, the motor will have to be picked up at my place in Winona. I will be back in Winona this friday, and will get in contact with you to verify.

Actually, he and Joe agree on a layaway plan. After his final payment, Joe left for his Africa trip and was unable to communicate with the buyer for about a month. Hence, the buyer concerns. But if you choose not to deal with Joe, its your own opinion. :)

By the way, I did not recieve full payment for the engine. I recieved 2 deposits for it.
Think about it this way: How would I benefit by not delivering it?
1: I am to recieve the remainder of the payment upon delivery
2: It is rather large, and I wouldnt mind having that space available.
3: It is a transaction that needs to be finished.

I'm really sorry about some of the stuff that has happened to a few of you. I personally have had numerous transactions with Joe and all of them ended up nicely. I'm especially sorry to hear about what happened you Ty (not sure if you remember me from bimmerfest 2003. I met you, Ross, and Joe there). Ty, you should serious look into some kind of court action to recover your money. If he indeed owes you that money and you have the proof. Any court in this land will side with you, plus you can also add on all cost assoicated with the lawsuit. The only thing you're be out is time and I know that can't be recover via court actions.
